COMPENSATION
Substitute Teacher
A Substitute Teacher workday is considered 8 hours.
Substitute Teachers earn $160 per day.
Half-days are available and paid at $80 per half-day.
Substitute Teachers earn $175 per day at Lowell, Hawthorne, Garfield, Anne Sullivan, Terry Redlin, Laura B Anderson, Hayward, Cleveland, and Horace Mann - Bridges.
Half-days are available and paid at $87.50 per half-day.
Long-Term Substitutes, working for the same Classroom Teacher in a position that requires planning for, implementing, and evaluating instruction, grading, parental communication, etc., for 25+ consecutive days, earns $190 per day. In most cases, the substitute teacher must possess at least a bachelor's degree in education

Substitute Education Support Professional earn $18.12 per hour.
SCREENING PROCESS

SUBSTITUTE STAFF ORIENTATION
All individuals hired as substitutes will be required to participate in an orientation session at the Instructional Planning Center prior to starting employment.
Candidates who do not have a teaching certificate must complete the STEDI.org online Subskills training, a 6 hour course covering classroom management, teaching strategies, the professional substitute teacher, special education, and fill-in activities for classrooms within the first two months of employment as a substitute teacher. The District will fund the cost of this online training, and provide a $50 stipend if the substitute works throughout the 2025-2026 school year and submits a copy of their diploma to Human Resources. Substitutes with a teaching certificate may complete the online training if they choose to do so. Stipend payment follows the Payroll Cutoff Schedule.
All substitutes are required to complete School Safety Training annually. This training is mandatory and paid.

What you'll do:
Plan, direct, and schedule landscaping, routine maintenance, and light repairs of stormwater infrastructure (retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, stormwater grates, and other stormwater assets).
Lead a crew of 2-4 crew members, communicating and enforcing all safety regulations.
Perform mowing, weed-trimming, debris removal, ground maintenance and cleanup, light construction, and maintenance repairs for client properties.
Operate landscaping and light construction equipment and maintain the equipment trailer.
Prepare reports and document work in the field using Apex proprietary systems.
Travel from the shop location via the company truck to client sites locally and regionally. 10-15 days of travel is typical (M-F only).
What we're looking for:
2-4+ years of experience with manual labor, outdoor experience preferred.

Anderson Landscaping is solely involved in landscaping and groundskeeping work on commercial and residential landscaping projects. The type of work that Landscapers and groundskeepers will engage in is a non-agricultural type of work. These include, but are not limited to, landscaping or maintaining grounds of property using hands, power tools, or other equipment used in the landscaping profession. The workers typically perform various tasks, including sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Workers may also gather and remove litter and use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedges or bush trimmers, or axes. Workers may also operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snowblowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. There are six (6) openings for Landscaping and Groundskeepers for temporary, full-time employment.
Workers will be paid no less than $16.02 per/hour and $24.03 for all hours worked over 40 hours in one workweek; returning workers may be paid a higher wage rate due to experience, location, and merit. Overtime may be available but not guaranteed.
Workers must have at least three months of experience in landscape techniques.
The employer will provide on-the-job training to use equipment and safety techniques properly.
Employer will offer 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; depending on weather conditions, work on Saturdays may be required.
Workers are needed to begin work on 04/01/2023 through 12/15/2023.
The employer will assist the workers with housing accommodations by helping them contact local rental agencies.
The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from recruitment to the place of work.
