Maintenance/Custodial/Grounds Worker Date Available: 02/25/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide Long-Term Leave Replacement Groundskeeper Reports to Director of Buildings and Grounds Effective Dates: February 25, 2026 - May 18, 2026 * Maintains and cares for all school grounds, including planting, watering, pruning, mowing and weeding as needed * Maintains and uses related equipment such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, snow blowers, tractors, trucks, power equipment, etc. * Works during extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow and rain in order to have the grounds in safe condition for staff and students * Work to prepare athletic and physical education fields and equipment for scheduled events. * Temporary, Full-Time Position * Salary - As per Guide Qualifications: Knowledge and ability to plan and implement a comprehensive grounds care program for a school campus NOTE: Must be willing to complete NJDOE Criminal History Clearance.

Under supervision of Lead Groundskeeper, the Groundskeeper is expected to perform duties necessary to maintain grounds and hard surface infrastructure in a manner acceptable to the college. This is a Support Staff Union position as stated in the Support Staff collective bargaining agreement Grade Level B. * Operate equipment such as utility and pickup trucks, snow plows, snow blowers, chain saws, power saws, pole pruners, vacuums, edgers, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, spreaders, tractors, skid steers, front end loaders in a safe and efficient manner. * Remove trash and debris from grounds, walks and roadways by both manual and mechanical means, service exterior trash and recycling containers. * Maintain lawns and fields by mowing, trimming, seeding, and applying turf supplements. * Restore lawns and gardens through removal of plant material, amending soil, planting new grass, shrubs and trees. * Maintain flower and shrubbery beds by weeding, tilling, watering, mulching, edging. Prune trees, shrubs and woody plants. * Make necessary repairs to exterior structures, including but not limited to fencing, masonry walls, signage, walkways and roadways. * Maintain storm sewer facilities including retention basins, catch basins, outfall structures, vortex basins, and pipe/sloughs. * Remove Snow and Ice using mechanical and manual methods. * Maintain and perform minor repairs to grounds equipment including but not limited to mowers, mower blades, vacuums, power washers, tractors, utility vehicles, spreaders, etc. * Additional duties as assigned.
