LCOG was first organized in 1945 under the name Central Lane County Planning Commission and had only six members.
The telephone consortium began in the mid 1980’s when local governments faced rising telephone costs as a result of the breakup of the bell system.
However, in 1996, OCWCOG purchased a 34,000 square foot former State office building in Albany.
The building of a Toledo office to serve Lincoln County followed in 2001.
By 2005, over $35 million dollars have been provided to business in the Region.
