    ESTIMATOR Stevens Industries is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important data. The ideal candidate will have good math skills and an analytical mindset. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. Responsibilities Understand the project/program and its requirements. Determine important factors for cost and other estimates. Gather first-hand information from job sites. Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc. Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting. Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors. In this role, you'll leverage your skillset in computer-aided design (CAD) and project estimating to create precise drawings, layouts, and material estimates that help bring our projects to life. You'll work closely with internal teams, engineers, and external vendors to ensure projects are accurately planned, materials are properly quantified, and production can proceed efficiently. This role is essential in helping us deliver on-time, high-quality results that exceed customer expectations. Ideal Candidate: * Customer Service Excellence: Provides outstanding customer support with a proactive approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration. * Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of CAD software, interpreting engineering drawings, and translating specs into detailed layouts and material lists. * Precision and Efficiency: Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management to ensure accuracy in estimates and drawings. * Team Collaboration: Works well with internal teams, engineers, and external vendors to keep projects on track. * Adaptability and Flexibility: Willing to work extra hours or travel occasionally to support project needs. Minimum Qualifications: * Substantial prior work experience in drafting or an Associate Degree in drafting from an accredited school. (Samples of work required and skills must be demonstrated.) * Ability to read, interpret, and work with engineering drawings and layouts. * Exhibit prior experience or training with computer software such as CAD or other relevant software. * Must demonstrate the ability to accurately work basic math, geometry and trigonometry problems. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Positive attitude and customer service mindset. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in mechanical drafting, piping, equipment, or pressure vessels. * Prior experience or training in customer service and project management. * Associate Degree or college courses completed in engineering, math, science, business, and/or project/construction management. * Knowledge of basic engineering concepts. * Prior experience in the water or wastewater industry. * Knowledge of AMERICAN products and their applications.
