This position will report to one of the AECOM offices in the East Region including but not limited to Atlanta, Georgia; Latham, New York; Buffalo, New York; Conshohocken, Pennsylvania; Germantown, Maryland; Charlotte, North Carolina; Franklin Tennessee; or Tampa, Florida. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management including subcontractors. * Client facing role with ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of dam engineering projects and programs including business development and proposal preparation for new and existing clients. * Lead the technical execution of projects including structural stability and strength analyses, structural design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic concrete structures such as spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures. * Plan, manage and lead field investigations for various hydraulic structures. * Prepare and perform quality control reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications. * Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk. * Plan, direct, supervise and lead multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects. * Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk. * Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff. * Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work and business development part time as needed. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. * Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states. * Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing projects or completing project management activities such as maintain project budgets, schedule, staffing, quality control, and/or client relations. * Minimum 2 years of experience developing proposals including preparing technical approaches and scopes of work, budgeting, and scheduling. * Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and/or professional conferences is required. * Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review. * Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum of 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. * Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. * Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams. * Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification. The successful candidate will be expected to start the training program within 6 months of hire. * Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Power BI and Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and project management information systems (PMIS) such as Procore and e-Builder, AutoCAD, Mathcad, STADD Pro and Ansys. * Passion for mentoring junior staff and leadership - guiding our growing team of engineers to produce quality work and excellent client service. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Project experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers. * Approved FERC Independent Consultant (IC) or the ability to receive FERC approval to perform Part 12D Inspections. * Experience performing risk assessments and Potential Failure Mode Analyses (PFMAs) related to dam design, construction, and operation.
