Langboard company history timeline
"Norway skates," or skis, were first introduced to the mining camps in 1853.
In late 1866, the Alturas Snowshoe Club was formed at La Porte to reinvigorate and to bring about a modicum of respectability to the sport.
In February, 1867, they held their first formal race and It wasn't until ten years later that a similar ski meet was held in Norway.
The early generations of longboarders continued the sport until the last race in 1917.
Every year since the 1930's The Langdale Company has planted more trees than it has harvested.
Longboarding resurfaced in 1972 with the introduction of the urethane longboard wheel by Frank Nasworthy and the Cadillac Wheel Company.
Langdale Industries, Inc. purchased the plant, originally built in Las Vegas, New Mexico, in 1996.
Langboard’s Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) plant began production on September 1, 1998.
Muir Surf and Sport opened in September 2005.
Founded back in 2005, MuirSkate started out as a 400 sqft shop at UCSD's John Muir College.
As of 2009, the company planted its 100 millionth seedling, a feat duplicated by few in the industry.
Lindsay Tadlock began writing in 2010.
The mini ramp was built in January, and the business opened its new doors in February 2013.
