The AM Dock Supervisor organizes and guides a team of dock associates during a specified shift to ensure freight is properly loaded and unloaded to facilitate on-time, error-free deliveries. This position requires up to 5% travel. Key Deliverables: Display a positive attitude and provide courteous, friendly service to all internal team members and external clients by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Lanter Delivery Systems Non-Negotiables and apply the concepts daily. Coordinate a team of dock associates, ensuring procedures and policies are being followed. Provide feedback to team members to encourage expected/exceptional performance and/or to stop negative behaviors or results. Document interactions in a timely manner. Assist with hiring, training, and development of all freight handlers. Provide all team members with the tools and resources needed to be successful. Work directly with customers, following specific directions of handling accounts to exceed customer satisfaction by managing dock operations for on-time, error free deliveries. Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight. Work with team member(s) to identify and rectify unsafe practices, document the interaction(s), and follow up as needed to ensure unsafe/unwanted performance does not repeat. Assist in unloading and loading of freight as needed, to support team. Safeguard cross-dock operations and contents by establishing and monitoring safety and security procedures and protocols. Conduct daily inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company laws, regulations, and policies. Assist with development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives as directed. Take initiative to offer suggestions on needed improvements to streamline processes and/or save the company money. Address conflict by facilitating issue resolution between team members and/or customers as needed. Document in a timely manner and notify next-level management of the situation. Manage daily end-of-shift reports, as well as performance updates meeting or exceeding due dates. Protect company assets and confidential information in accordance with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to client, team member, and proprietary company information. Work Environment: This job operates in a warehouse environment with unforgiving surfaces as well as hot and cold climates with a variety of noises and odors. Prolonged periods of standing and sitting with regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, copier, phone, filing cabinets and fax machine.
