LAPAN company history timeline

1940

In 1940, Laborer and Housekeeper were the top reported jobs for men and women in the USA named Lapan.

1944

Eger, her parents, aunts and uncles, and her eldest sister Magda, were deported to Auschwitz in May 1944.

1945

Eger was liberated from Gunskirchen on May 4, 1945.

1949

She emigrated to the United States in 1949; first to New York, and then to Baltimore, where she worked in a factory.

1989

If you asked Pat of all these amazing accomplishments “what was she most proud of in her life” she would say in 1989 when she created the Lapan Sunshine Foundation.

1992

Provenance The Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project conducted the interview with Mikhail Lapan on June 17, 1992.

2000

Patricia taught “free market economics” in Poland and Russia and in 2000 at the request of the US government, she spent 6 weeks in Ghana helping with the Industrial development program.

2004

In addition to the Foundation, Pat created the Lapan College & Career Clubhouse in 2004 to provide all of those things and more.
