Main Ingredients of the Job
Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
What You Bring to the Table
Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

POSITION SUMMARY:
To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route.
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g. handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and transports products back to SYGMA warehouse.
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g. DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines (e.g. proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected for visible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and stored to prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Follows preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advises management team of any unsafe conditions.
Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment.
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
Communicates with management team regarding any deviations to route, trailer or loading issues and/or customer or product issues.
Safely transports product picked up via backhauls and line hauls and ensures picked up product is correct and is delivered on a timely basis, according to established company standards.
Works assigned schedule and works outside usual work schedule as needed to meet customer needs; exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.
Commercial Vehicle Drivers must have the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices.
Skill in: driving over long distances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weather conditions, communicating with customers; solving problems; delivering product.
Ability to: drive a tractor-trailer unit both in the day and at night in a variety of traffic and weather conditions and remain alert and aware of surroundings; meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company; handle hazardous materials and food and restaurant items that are frozen, dry and refrigerated; operate a 3 axle tractor, 45' - 48' trailer, straight truck, on board computer, key pad and a 2 wheel hand cart; read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations; perform basic math functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide); effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; solve problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The associate is frequently required to lift, push, or move product that weighs up to up to 50 pounds by hand and push/pull up to 350 pounds of product with a 2-wheeled hand card down a ramp and into the customer's storage areas; climb in and out of a tractor and trailer; reach to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Plant Parts Room AssociateMaintains stock of MRO spare parts and consumables including: purchasing, inventory accuracy, managing consumption/usage, and appropriate on-hand levels to ensure line uptime.
Essential Functions
Purchasing:
Restocks consumables, critical spare parts, and parts inventory
Provides PO delivery status updates for outstanding orders from respective vendors
Corrects and manages AP MRO Outstanding Issues
Receives all UPS/FedEx/Etc. deliveries
Manages inter-organizational shipping and receiving
Inventory Management:
Manages physical spare parts inventory, and ensures they are placed in appropriate storage locations
Maintains and receives all spare parts inventory in both Oracle EBS & Power Pick Global systems
Performs weekly/quarterly MRO Cycle counts into Oracle/PPG systems, and researches and reconciles discrepancies

Track, maintains and files warranty claims with respective vendors
Identifies parts in E-CAT system
Maintenance Planning:
Generates and completes PM Work Order Scripts, and manages work order backlog
Facilitates maintenance planning meetings
Assists technicians during downtime events
Provides database support on-site acting as a subject matter expert
Assists with annual machine rebuilds
Creates PM Plan for line down time, optimizing Mechanic labor availability
Ensures completion of PMs at scheduled intervals (e.g., weekly, monthly, etc.)

Evaluates and assesses PM effectiveness to ensure time planned and PM tasks are appropriate

The Parts Associate will efficiently manage the procurement and distribution of heavy-duty equipment, diesel engine, and hydraulic component parts for outside sales and internal repairs. Essential Functions:
Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, with flexibility to assist other departments as needed.
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM), creating parts lists using Excel, experience with warehousing software preferred.
Order and track parts/inventory to minimize delay time in completing repairs on vehicles.
Provide written documentation of parts ordered/received as required by the company.
Assess requests for parts for a variety of components related to heavy duty diesel, utility equipment and hydraulic systems to ensure correct items and quantity are ordered.
Timely process orders and contact vendors as needed to order parts for service or inventory by ensuring that the proper parts are ordered.
Work closely with managers and team members to make decisions on large purchases to prevent unnecessary expenses.
Work closely with managers and team leaders on parts requests to ensure all necessary parts are ordered and eliminate costly parts returns per company procedures.
Track all incoming and outgoing inventory in accordance with the company's procedures.
Accurately distribute parts to mechanics and assign equipment to appropriate vehicle within the company's inventory system.
Ensure that computer-based parts and inventory systems are up-to-date and accurate by inputting all necessary data in a timely, accurate manner.
Assist in conducting inventory counts and keep inventory records to ensure company standards are met.
Assist in ensuring that proper inventory levels are maintained to prevent delays in production.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
