    Job DescriptionSUMMER GARDENS/Lassonde DescriptionSafely and properly operate machinery essential to the production of food products at Summer Garden Food Manufacturing. Process all fresh ingredients and dry ingredients in the most efficient way possible as to not affect the daily Master Production Schedule in an adverse manner. All Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures must be followed at all times. Safely and properly changeover and operate any equipment located in the immediate work area. Properly and thoroughly clean and sanitize the immediate work area. Fill in for each and every work position when needed. Perform operator level adjustments and preventative maintenance on equipment located in the immediate work area. Successful and accurate completion of all paperwork and touch screen entries. Ensure completion of any and all rework including directing and training temporary workers to complete tasks. Participate in the SGFM training program which includes training all employees in your immediate work area. Working knowledge of weights, measurements, measurement conversions and batching of kettles. Build a team environment within the immediate work area and throughout the SGFM organization. Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP's/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls. Operate a forklift and Pallet Jack as required to move pallets around and off the lines. (In house certification will be provided) Ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Frequent lifting of material up to and including 80 pounds. Able to read and write English fluently Basic mathematic and reading. Regularly required to talk, hear and see Frequently required to stand, walk and bend. Manual dexterity with ability to reach with hands and arms. Climbing ladders and stairs often. Able to work in both hot/humid (in excess of 110 degrees F) and cold (below -20 degrees F) environments. Operate forklifts and hand jacks proficiently. Obtain and maintain company certification for forklift and hand jack operation. Maintain a valid state driver's license with no violations. While a permanent role may become available, conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and attendance. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days. Core Responsibilities: Ability to complete the following for a minimum of two-three production lines with ease on the floor: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assure the adherence to customer, company quality and food safety standards. Ensure proper use and care of analytical instruments and equipment, including calibration checks according to schedule. Analyze product chemistry in the form of sugar solids (Brix), pH and Water Activity, sensory, and other analytical and operational tests that are performed for each batch and documented as required per Process Control and HACCP Sheets in RedZone and DAX/ERP. Perform HACCP monitoring activities including filter/Screens checks, magnets check, allergen verifications and hot fill monitoring as prescribed by production line requirements. Monitor the line and equipment for food safety related items such as good manufacturing practices and proper sanitation practices. Conduct sampling as directed in the ATP and Environmental Swabbing program. Properly document all data and provide timely/effective communication to production management, production employees and other quality members. Assist in problem solving events to determine root cause and establish preventive measures. (e.g., Customer complaint investigation). Collect any necessary samples and maintain the retain sample library accordingly. Assist as a Trainer for all Line, and dept. policies and procedures. Performs CCPs and sensory evaluation on samples and document as necessary. Fill in as needed in other areas of the Quality Department as assigned by the Manager. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Follow all lab methods and procedures (responsibilities are complete and accurate). Active participation in the Phillips safety program. Complete all required food safety training per Alchemy protocol. Abides by all internal policies, including adherence to all GMP practices, attendance policy and completion of methodology described in the Technical Services Manual. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and overall time management skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years' experience in a laboratory environment. Ability to follow directions. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation. Preferred Qualifications: Additional course work in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related discipline is a plus. One year experience in a food manufacturing facility.
