In this role, you will be responsible for loading laundry machines and processing laundry to clean linens. Removes and sorts linens and clothing from dryers. Operates washers and dryers using prescribed cleaning methods. Maintains a high level of quality and safety.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for gathering, labeling, washing, drying, folding and distributing laundry for the Coble Creek Healthcare facility.
Essential Duties:
- Gather soiled laundry from the nursing care areas and transport to the Laundry area.
- Wash, dry, and fold all laundry. Return all laundered items to the nursing care areas, ensuring placement in the proper locations.
- When handling individual resident’s laundry, ensure it is labeled, laundered and returned appropriately.
- As required, provide services in the Housekeeping area.
- Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.
- Respond and react in a kind, polite, and professional manner with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
- May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.

This position is responsible for completing assigned routines that will maintain resident clothing and linen in a clean, sanitary, and useable condition. Work is performed in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations, facility policies and procedures, established regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as the philosophy goals and objectives of the facility and the Laundry department.
Core Job Responsibilities- Perform day to day laundry functions assigned including sorting, counting, and washing of personal linens, bibs, tablecloths and other launderable items.
- Collect, sort, and prepare for washing all items to be either laundered in the facility or to be removed for laundering purposes.
- Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute resident personal laundry and clean linen daily.
- Label all resident personal clothing and return to resident within 3 days of receiving clothing.
- Mend resident clothing (i.e. buttons, hems, etc.) and report any item that cannot be mended to Nurse Manager.
- Turn in all articles found to Lead Laundry Aide.
- During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, and garments are distributed to designated areas as directed.
- Assure that infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
- Remove dirt, dust, and grease film from equipment or floor surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions including cleaning dust traps in dryers daily.
- Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Assist callers with their request/complaint or refers to appropriate personnel to ensure successful result of call.
