Updated January 8, 2025
3 min read

The primary duties of a laundry attendant include washing and ironing clothes using dry cleaning equipment, attending to customers, and keeping the laundry environment clean. As a laundry attendant, you would also be required to take inventory and keep records of customers and their items. You might be required to perform minor duties like sewing and fixing buttons. You are responsible for keeping track of laundry equipment to report cases of malfunction.

More importantly, you will be required to face customers and attend to their orders and queries. You will find job opportunities in Laundromats present in hotels, malls, or private laundry facilities. If you work in a public Laundromat, you will be required to keep tokens for the dry cleaning equipment.

A good laundry attendant must have good customer service skills. You must also have basic skills in taking inventory, handling dry cleaning equipment, and keeping the laundry room clean. You do not require more than a high school diploma to become a laundry attendant. An average laundry attendant earns $11.3 per hour and $23,500 annually.

Not as taxing mentally.
