This role allows you to explore potential career paths and practice areas by meetings with current and former attorneys in different roles throughout New York Life. You will participate in internal and external networking events to gain insight into the intersection of law and business and to build relationships in the legal field.
This is a paid internship located at New York Life's home office in White Plains, New York. within the Office of the General Counsel. The internship dates are June 1st 2026 through August 28th 2026. General housing and transportation assistance will not be provided. Project Description
We are seeking a full-time lawclerk/legal intern interested in experiencing the practice of law within the law department of a premier biotechnology company. The lawclerk/intern will support the Law Department's Data Privacy Group during the summer of 2026 and:
* Conduct research and analysis of privacy regulations and legislation, sharing findings with the team to enhance collective knowledge
* Assist in executing key projects to support the Data Privacy Office's objectives
* Support training and awareness activities
Necessary Technical Skills
* Pursuing a JD degree, preference to students who will have completed their 1st year of law school
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word and PowerPoint and using other data‐driven applications
* Strong writing, research, communication and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with and interest in contracts and corporate legal issues
* Science background preferred
