The Stoel Rives Summer Program
Our summer program is designed to immerse you in the practice of law and our culture at Stoel Rives. We offer our summer associates well-rounded opportunities including robust training and development, interesting work assignments, pro bono opportunities, mentorship, relationship building, community engagement, and (of course!) fun.
In the Boise office, offers to summer associates to return as associates are expected to come from the Litigation practice group.
However, as a summer associate you may have an opportunity to work with attorneys across our core practice groups and industries:

Your Litigation work assignments may include drafting transactional documents, researching and writing legal research memos, drafting significant portions of briefs, framing discovery requests, and learning the mechanics of closing deals. You will have opportunities to participate in client meetings, hearings, closings, depositions, and trials. Our summer associates also participate in training and professional development programs.
Each summer associate is paired with an experienced attorney to provide feedback and guidance on navigating legal practice. Summer associates also participate in social and networking events to meet attorneys from across multiple practice groups.
Requisite Experience and Skills
We are looking for applications from students with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, skills, and interests. Experience can include, for example, professional experience prior to law school, community engagement, or participation in law school organizations, law review, or moot court. Criteria we consider when selecting summer associates include:
Interest in Litigation;
Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, responsiveness, initiative, and perseverance;
A commitment to client service and team success;
A record of academic achievement, excellent legal analysis and writing skills, interpersonal and leadership skills, and community involvement; and
An intent to practice law after law school graduation where you are hired as a summer associate.
Compensation
Our summer associates receive the weekly equivalent of an entry-level associate salary in their office location. The weekly salary in the Boise office is $3,462.

Prepare new client/matter intake forms and engagement letters.
Assist with billing process, including daily time entry - entering, proofreading, spellchecking, and releasing - distribute monthly proformas, review and edit prebills, and prepare final with cover letter (if appropriate) in accordance with firm or department procedures.
Prepare accounting documents as required, including check requests, expense and travel reimbursement requests, and trust documents.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

Essential Functions
* Appears in court and documents cases during court proceedings;

Our practice groups have several openings for defense litigators with a variety of practice area experience, including specializations in: Employment, Construction, Product Liability, and General Liability. Candidates will collaborate with experienced attorneys in these practice areas, while working alongside GRSM partners with extensive litigation experience in trials and arbitrations nationwide.

Legal Interns for Micron experience a side of the law that few law students experience -- the in-house perspective. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The job objectives of a Micron Legal Intern will include projects that integrate in-house legal practice with technology. Under the mentorship of designated attorneys, the student will have the opportunity to work with lawyers and other professionals globally. The intern will work an average of 40 hours per week with availability to participate in meetings that may occasionally take place during evening or early morning hours to accommodate Micron's globally-distributed team members. The Legal Intern will be located at Micron's headquarters in Boise, Idaho. Boise is a delightful, beautiful, rapidly growing town located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, with plenty of access not only to shops, restaurants, and entertainment but also to outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and river rafting.

Education:
