*Position Overview*
Banks and Brower is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least one (1) year of experience practicing immigration law. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants hands- on experience, mentorship, and meaningful work serving immigrant communities.
*Practice Areas*
The associate will handle matters including:
* Removal defense before EOIR/Immigration Court
* Family-based immigration (Family-based petitions, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, and Waivers)
* Humanitarian relief (Asylum, VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJs)
* Naturalization and other benefits before USCIS
* Client counseling, case strategy, and court appearances
* It is possible for cross-practice areas as well if desired (criminal, family, personal injury)
*Responsibilities*
* Manage a caseload of immigration matters from intake through resolution
* Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS offices, and other agencies
* Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and applications
* Conduct client interviews and prepare clients for hearings and interviews
* Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
* Maintain timely and accurate case documentation
*Qualifications*
* J.D. from an accredited law school
* Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction (Indiana preferred or eligibility to waive in)
* At least 1 year of experience practicing immigration law
* Experience with removal defense and family-based cases preferred
* Familiarity with humanitarian forms of relief strongly preferred
