About the Role:
This is a hybrid position. The firm is seeking an Associate with 3-9 years of experience to join its Litigation team. The focus of the role will be on securities and complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
What You'll Do:
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial litigation matters using tools such as Westlaw
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, legal correspondence, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other legal documents
Participate in depositions, court conferences, hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys
Review and interpret applicable laws, rulings, and regulations
Manage all aspects of the discovery process, including document production, interrogatories, and exhibit organization
Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and case file management
Maintain client communications, provide legal advice, and offer regular updates on case progress
Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses
Attend client meetings and negotiate settlements when appropriate

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus
3-9 years of litigation experience, specifically securities and complex commercial litigation

Overview

Candidate Profile
JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
New York-barred candidates preferred
3+ years of substantive litigation experience, including products liability litigation, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm
Extensive experience writing briefs, particularly Rule 702 of the Federal Rules of Evidence and Daubert issues
Familiarity working with the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry is a plus
