Armed Security Officer Qualifications/Requirements:

They must be fully Retired (15 years) with a LE Department Retired ID or currently working for a Police Agency . This is Metro One's requirement.

If you are currently Active or Retired with an Law Enforcement agency, you Must be able to comeplete the Georgia Secretary of State's Office Security Guard Application and get approved before you can start working with Metro One LPSG as an Armed Security Officer.

+ Must attend a 24 Ga Security Class

+ Use of Force

+ Firearms Qualification

+ Yearly firearms qualification

Are you honest, compassionate, and trustworthy? Do you want to be part of animal investigations and rescue operations? In this role, you'll have the opportunity to patrol designated areas to enforce state laws and local ordinances, ensure humane treatment of animals, issue citations, investigate complaints involving animal neglect and/or cruelty, and educate the public regarding proper animal care. What you'll do:

+ Comprehend and enforce CA state laws, local animal control municipal codes, regulations governing licensing, rabies abatement and prevention

+ Humanely handle, capture, restrain, confine and transport domestic animals and livestock using proper humane equipment, methods and techniques
+ Investigate and enforce animal cruelty laws and Vicious Dog and Public Nuisance incidents

+ Issue citations, prepare and execute search warrants and arrest warrants, prepare cases for filing criminal charges with City Attorney/District Attorney

+ Conduct accurate and thorough investigations including obtaining photographs and video, recovery and proper storage of evidence, interview of persons involved, and conduct follow-up inquiries as needed

+ Emergency Response Team - All officers receive training and equipment for responding to animal related emergencies related to a variety of incidents including wildfires.

What we're looking for:

With a HS Degree or equivalent, you can qualify one of three ways: 1. 1 year experience dealing with the public in a service-related capacity AND completion of 30+ college units related to animal control, law enforcement or criminal justice

OR 2. 6 months as Animal Control Officer

OR 3. 1 year full-time, paid experience working in an animal control agency or humane society, veterinary or kennel/boarding facility, ranch or zoo handling, controlling and caring for animals.

Additionally, you must be able to pass a physical and psychological screening, including drug screening. Must pass a full background check. Must have a valid driver's license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.Location:We are hiring for all campuses: San Diego, Oceanside, and EscondidoSchedule: This position works on a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule. Pay:

+ This position starts at an hourly rate of $23.91 per hour and is eligible for an hourly bilingual-Spanish premium. The hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
