Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Control Supervisor serves as the strategic leader responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the maintenance workload across all divisions, branches, and work centers at LTA. This role provides proactive oversight of aircraft and equipment maintenance operations and manages all material requirements for production and operational teams. As a key member of the Maintenance Department's management team, the Supervisor ensures effective prioritization, resource alignment, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards to achieve LTA's business objectives. The Supervisor is accountable for establishing best practices, driving performance, and serving as the primary liaison to senior leadership regarding maintenance priorities and fleet readiness.
Responsibilities
Centralized Management & Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact and authority for all maintenance actions, providing strategic direction and centralized control of maintenance priorities. Lead, coach, and mentor technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and productive workflow across all shifts and locations.
Operational & Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies, integrating daily and long-range planning to support flight test and operational schedules. Coordinate with cross-functional partners to balance immediate needs against long-term organizational goals.
Workload & Performance Optimization: Proactively receive, evaluate, and prioritize work orders-including engineering tasks, NCRs, troubleshooting, and discrepancies-to maximize team productivity, minimize downtime, and deliver measurable gains in aircraft availability and reliability.
Fleet Readiness & Executive Reporting: Maintain continuous awareness of fleet status and readiness. Provide clear, timely updates and executive-level briefings on aircraft material condition, limitations, and return-to-service forecasts to LTA leadership, supporting business decision-making and operational planning.
Compliance, Records, & Audit Leadership: Ensure airship and equipment maintenance aligns with all approved technical data, company procedures, and FAA regulations. Set standards for accurate record-keeping and audit readiness, continually reviewing processes for compliance and regulatory excellence.
Resource & Logistics Oversight: Oversee forecasting, requisitioning, staging, and optimization of parts, tools, and equipment. Actively manage department resources and budget allocations to support organizational efficiency and cost control.
Safety & Quality Champion: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance best practices. Lead regular reviews of FOD, Tool Control, Calibration, and Maintenance Department Safety programs. Drive a culture of operational safety and continuous process improvement.
Policy & Process Development: Develop, implement, and continuously refine maintenance control policies and procedures. Promote standardization and adoption of best practices throughout the department to support organizational growth and mitigate risks.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Align maintenance programs with priorities across Program Management, Flight Test, Flight Operations, and Engineering. Facilitate department meetings, post-event reviews, and collaborative problem-solving efforts.
Team Development: Lead performance management, training, and succession planning for maintenance staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and professional development across all team levels.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze operational data to identify trends, implement process improvements, and drive performance metrics for turnaround times, resource utilization, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license (14 CFR Part 65).
7-10 years of relevant aviation maintenance experience; at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity leading maintenance teams.
In-depth knowledge of inspection, scheduling, reliability, and aviation logistics, with expert understanding of FAA regulations and best practices.
Demonstrated People Leadership, Proven Decision-Making skills, and superior verbal and written communication abilities.
Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS/EAM) and departmental budget/resource management.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior management experience in Maintenance Control or Maintenance Operations Center (MOC).
Direct experience with lighter-than-air vehicles/airships and/or large composite aircraft.
Familiarity with DoD or commercial best practices (e.g., NAMP).
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, or related field.

Job DescriptionLTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start-up, is seeking a motivated Senior Power Electronics Control Engineer to help build an experimental ‘lighter than air' flight vehicle. You will work within a dynamic engineering and design team to conceptualize, rapidly prototype, test and implement innovative solutions for the design, fabrication, and assembly of an electric airship. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight hardware development with the motto "build a little, test a little, learn a lot". This unique position allows for hand-on participation through all phases of development, from concept to flight of an experimental flight vehicle in collaboration with firmware and system teams. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Power Electronics Control Engineer to help design and implement our control methods onto the electronics/power electronics hardware of our lighter than air flight vehicles. Responsibilities
Develop power electronic control algorithms into firmware based on the control method and algorithms that satisfies the flight vehicle requirements
Work closely with firmware engineers to implement DSP/Microcontroller-based control algorithms according to the system standards and rules
Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware engineers throughout the development cycle (system design, prototyping and validation, system integration, and improvements)
Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, embedded simulation, and field validation to verify controls performance
Document controls architecture, control logic, and regulatory compliance considerations.
Develop comprehensive test plans and perform thorough testing to validate firmware functionality, stability, and performance under various conditions
Participate in testing of the integrated electrical systems, including bring up process, debugging, and checking the signal integrity, etc.
Reading electrical drawings and schematics and help with the integration process
Collaborate with software integration teams to bring up core functions and broadcast software level requirements to electrical hardware and systems teams.
Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Strong understanding of power converters, electric drives, and battery management systems
5+ years of experience in power electronics systems development, with a focus on motor control and power electronics.
Knowledge of working with different digital signal processors (DSPs) and microcontrollers
Experience in modeling and simulation of power electronics and electric machines (MATLAB and MATLAB/Simulink preferred)
Experience in PCB design and its simulations tools
Proficiency with basic EE tools (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, etc.)
Start to finish ownership of hardware (design, prototype, and validation)
Experience in development of digital and analog interfaces for PC-based systems, especially (Labview, Matlab, Python)
Preferred Qualifications
Master or PhD degree in Electrical engineering is preferred
Strong understanding of power electronics principles, including modulation techniques (PWM, SVM), voltage and current control loops, and Park transform
Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000, STM32, or similar microcontroller families used in power control
Knowledge of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for aerospace applications and the path to certification
Knowledge of basic control theory and its implementation in analog/digital circuits

This role is responsible for integrating flight operations, maintenance, engineering, and logistics into a cohesive safety framework for LTA's airship fleet. The ASM is tasked with ensuring we have safe-to-operate aircraft, safe personnel, and safe processes. The ASM reports to the Senior Director, Program Management, Quality, and Safety. The ASM coordinates with contracted Aviation Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver comprehensive and effective Aviation Safety results.Responsibilities
Safety Management System (SMS) Leadership
Own, maintain, and continuously improve the company's SMS and annual safety plan, acting on behalf of the AE.
Publish the company's safety policy, defining accountabilities and championing a non-punitive, just culture.
Provide routine safety performance briefings directly to the AE and Senior Director.
Operational Risk Management (ORM)
Embed deliberate and time-critical risk assessment methodologies into all daily operations, maintenance, and training activities.
Lead training on core risk management tools, including CRM, ORM, THA, and incident investigation/causal analysis methods.
Maintain the master library of program risk assessments and brief leadership on key findings and trends.
Hazard Identification & Incident Investigation
Manage the end-to-end hazard reporting system, ensuring risks are classified, assigned ownership, and corrective actions are verified for effectiveness.
Maintain, drill, and continuously improve the Pre-Incident and Emergency Response Plan (ERP), coordinating with first responders and airports.
Serve as the lead coordinator for incident investigations, managing evidence, causal analysis, and the development of corrective actions.
Issue interim safety alerts and ensure timely, accurate reporting of incidents to the safety database and regulatory bodies.
Safety Assurance & Performance Monitoring
Execute a layered safety assurance program, including self-assessments and independent audits, to verify the effectiveness of risk controls.
Develop and own all safety performance metrics and chair the monthly Safety Review Board to analyze trends and drive action.
Chair the LTA Human Factors Council (HFC) and advise the AE on aircrew flight readiness status.
Safety Promotion & Culture
Develop and deliver recurrent aviation safety training, including CRM, ORM, human factors, and safety leadership briefings.
Drive a positive aviation safety culture through targeted safety campaigns and recognition of positive reporting behaviors.
Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation safety, operations, or maintenance, preferably with large, complex aircraft.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a dedicated safety or incident investigation leadership role.
Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a SMS and use of aviation industry best practices and CRM / ORM tools.
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with experience briefing executive leadership and regulatory agencies.
Proficiency with safety management and maintenance data systems, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as an Aviation Safety Manager in a military or civil aviation environment (airship, rotorcraft, or large aircraft operations is highly desirable).
Formal training in aircraft incident/accident investigation (e.g., NTSB, USC) and experience leading multidisciplinary investigation teams.
Experience designing and drilling emergency response plans in coordination with local authorities and airport officials.
Authorities
Program Ownership: Acts on behalf of the Accountable Executive to lead and implement the Aviation Safety Program and SMS.
The authority to halt any flight or ground operation that presents an unacceptable level of risk (Stop-Work Authority).
The authority to convene investigations, issue interim safety directives, and escalate risk acceptance decisions to executive leadership (Investigative & Directive Authority).
Work Conditions
Work primarily in a hangar and flight line environment.
Opportunity for occasional travel.
On-call support availability required to respond to safety events and emergencies.

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - 175,000, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes a very competitive annual bonus, 401K Match, and other generous benefits.
