Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.

There are no education substitutions for the GL-9 or GS-11 grade-level Border Patrol Agent opportunities.

Seasonal Schedules
Employment runs early-mid October through mid-December (exact dates depend on production volume).
Training schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Training schedules may begin with reduced hours until the season fully ramps up.
Our production schedule is scaled with holiday demand. Your preference for day and night shifts is used when assigning shifts as the season progresses.

We are seeking a dedicated and observant Protected Species Observer to join our team for operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on protected marine species in the area, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and contributing to the protection of marine biodiversity.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular observations for marine mammals, sea turtles, and other protected species during vessel operations.
Accurately record and report sightings, behaviors, and interactions of protected species.
Implement mitigation measures to minimize impacts on protected species, including advising on vessel speed adjustments or course changes.
Work closely with vessel crew and project managers to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Maintain detailed logs and reports for regulatory bodies and internal use.
Participate in briefings and training sessions related to marine species protection and environmental compliance.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Protected Species Observer or in a related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of marine mammals and sea turtles, particularly species found in the Gulf of Mexico.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
Good observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in challenging weather conditions and rough seas.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate of $10-$15, commensurate with experience.
Overtime paid at time and a half for hours worked beyond the standard 12-hour shift.

Education and Work Experience:
Must hold a valid driver's license.
The Captain must also possess a current and valid United States Coast Guard Master's License for the vessel and waters assigned. The Captain must also posses a U.S.C.G. merchant mariner's document.
For vessels greater than 200 ton domestic, the Captain must hold a STCW 95' certification.
The Captain must be proficient in Marine Technology and be able to read and utilize the vessel's navigational and radio equipment to plot the course of the vessel on a navigational chart. The Captain must also have knowledge in the proper ways to secure lines and hoses to platforms, vessels and other offshore structures.
The Captain regularly communicates by radio and face to face as well as in writing. The Captain also records all fuel, oil, water, cargo and supplies loaded on the vessel as well as all personnel boarding the vessel and documents each time the vessel changes location.
