Le Sueur Incorporated, a 3rd generation family owned company began in 1946 when the Le Sueur Foundry Company was founded in downtown Le Sueur, Minnesota, USA. Three years later the company relocated to its current location at 1409 Vine Street, Le Sueur, Minnesota, USA.
In 1959, the Permanent Mold Division was started to provide customers the option of stronger, pressure tight permanent mold castings.
By the mid-1960's, power demand again began to outpace local production capacity.
So, in 1964, the City, with regional power supplier NSP, installed the first set of transmission lines to enable the City to purchase power from outside our local generation station.
He then conducted newspapers at Winona, St Cloud, Minneapolis and St Anthony and finally, 1973, started the LeSueur Sentinel.
Adjacent to the home, in Louise Park, stands the bronze sculpture called "The Mothers" created in 1978 by Doctor Paul Granlund.
The main headquarters of the company were located in Le Sueur until 1979 when Green Giant was purchased by the Pillsbury Company.
And, in 1986, the City built a second set of line to act as backup and to prepare for eventual phasing out of the local generating engines.
The company name is changed in 1991 from: Le Sueur Foundry Company to: Le Sueur Incorporated.
In May of 1992, the City of Le Sueur and 7 other Municipals formed MMPA (MN Municipal Power Agency). MMPA is responsible for all our wholesale power supply for it's members.
1993 Le Sueur introduces two more products: Very Young Small Sweet Peas with 50% Less Sodium and Tender Baby Whole Carrots.
2013 A fresh label design is introduced on Le Sueur’s signature silver cans.
