Job Overview Title: Quality Control Supervisor Location: Buena Park, California Type: Full-Time Onsite Salary Range: $78,000 - $95,000 (based on education and experience) Job Summary The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, training and discipline of all subordinate staff and for ensuring that all receiving, in-process and final inspection personnel have the required inspection skills and training for the tasks assigned to them. Acts as the primary contact between manufacturing/production, purchasing, and planning personnel and receiving inspection and is responsible for ensuring that suitable inspection personnel are available as required to meet requirements at all inspection points. Responsible for the control and preliminary disposition of all non-conforming materials and coordination with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering and supplier quality assurance. Primary Responsibilities Schedule work leads and personnel, including over-time, as necessary, to support manufacturing requirements. Ensures that the inspection department operates as efficiently and effectively as possible. Serves as a backup with inspection related activities to ensure priority jobs are processed in accordance with schedule demands, including after hour and weekend support. Reviews and approves work records of those employees under his/her supervision. Responsible for ensuring that all applicable Quality Assurance requirements documented by Leach and its customers are satisfied with 100% compliance. Coordinate all customer source inspection activities. Maintains appropriate communication between the Inspection Department and all other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate flow of information. Responsible for the training and applicable certifications of all inspection personnel to ensure compliance to existing procedural and drawing requirements. Reports regularly to management any area experiencing problems so that management, in turn, can seek effective solutions. Initiate revision to Quality Assurance documents, to better control the flow of work through the various Inspection areas or to clarify specific inspection requirements. Coordinates with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering Departments to resolve non-compliance issues and MRB activities. Participates in the coordination of corrective actions with supplier quality engineering for discrepant material received. Responsible for informing QA management of the budgetary requirements for those departments under his/her jurisdiction, when required. Responsible for constant appraisal of the progress of all employees under his/her jurisdiction. Responsible for taking appropriate remedial actions such as re-training or formal disciplinary action when a specific employees' performance does not meet company requirements. Assists in completion of internal audits, such as System Audits, Product Audits and Process Audits. Required to schedule and conduct annual solder training recertification for all required employees to ensure compliance and continued support to production. Basic Qualifications At least 5 years' experience in the inspection of electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead position. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education. Must have very good understanding of inspection practices and methods as required in a leading manufacturer supplying high reliability assemblies to the aerospace industry. Must have very good communication skills and the ability to teach and mentor subordinate inspection personnel. Must have the ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and tasks.
