Lead analyst/developer job description

The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.
Responsibilities:


Works on all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Develops, codes, tests, and debugs software and applications using Java. Designs features and makes improvements based on user experience data. Completes unit testing to identify and fix programming errors. Uses common testing and software documentation tools. Design libraries to facilitate Cloud deployments of Java applications Knows Java Frameworks (Spring and Microservices framework) and the full Java ecosystem Has experience deploying and managing large Java applications Strong Server side development using Java, delivering large scale REST services or micro-services using Cloud architecture Experience with building scalable, high performance, distributed systems from its inception to production Deep understanding of data structures, designing algorithms, programming patterns, and solving complex issues Has a good understanding software development best practices Has previous experience with distributed databases Interest and ability to learn other technologies as needed



Qualifications:



6-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment Project Management experience Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements Proven track record of operational process change and improvement

We are the BNY Mellon Treasury Services team!

We are a small business (~450 people) inside of a large company with a lot of exciting growth in our future. As a lead analyst with our team, you will be a key contributor to solving our organization's most important problems by leveraging data and creating analytical insights to inform our strategies. In this position you will gain hands-on experience working with global teams, large complex data sets, and structuring disparate data sources. The insights you develop will be immediately put into place to help our clients and to grow revenue for our business. You will work with a small team of highly valued top performers in a collaborative, data-driven environment and will have access to our executive leadership.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

* Analyze sales, financial, and product data to inform business growth strategies
* Partner with global teams to identify growth opportunities and develop analytical insights to enable execution of special projects
* Work cross functionally across sales, product, finance, digital, and marketing teams to support revenue growth initiatives
* A portion of candidates time will be spent on BAU reporting needs of the organization utilizing data tools such as Excel and Tableau
* This role will work closely and primarily with senior managers and executives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Tableau Prep, Power BI, etc)
* Experience in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products
* Experience with a CRM system preferred but not necessary (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc)
* Great analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
* Strong management and organizational skills
* Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments
* Ability to draw conclusions based on data insights and communicate in a straightforward manner to the sales team and broader business / company

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred.
* 5-7 years of experience preferred. Experience in quantitative finance and technology preferred.

Work you'll do The Cybersecurity Engineer position supports the Fusion Center as an escalation point identifying and addressing potential Splunk content/level I and II engineering security concerns as this role serves as a point of escalation. This role is also responsible for supporting Security application(s) patching, content creation as requested from all stakeholders, and development of process documentation.

+ Serves as Splunk developer responsible for creating Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) content to monitor security events and detect potential security incidents across the enterprise. Responsible for SIEM content management, content creation, rule tuning, reporting and alert creation

+ Provide knowledge of recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for parsing purposes to make it CIM compliant, then building dashboards to fulfill stakeholder requirements.

+ Provide skillful knowledge within a Linux environment, editing and maintaining Splunk configuration files and apps.

+ Work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and interact with end users to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and aid with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards as required.
+ Interact with senior management, as necessary.

+ Troubleshoot performance alerts from the Splunk infrastructure or Splunk agents

+ Assist in the testing of vendor patches for all security applications the Engineering team supports.

+ Maintain the Cybersecurity Engineering group in ServiceNow and ensure all request and incident SLA's are met as required by our stakeholders.

+ Document and update the Team's process and Data Ingestion procedures.

+ Actively seek to improve and develop new content based upon observed security activity

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or relevant educational or professional experience.

+ 5 years of related experience including at least 2 years experience with Splunk Administration.

+ Strong Working Knowledge of the Splunk Platform.

+ Ability to troubleshoot performance and issues, as well as installation and Splunk upgrades

+ Strong experience in analyzing, troubleshooting and providing solutions for technical issues.

+ Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security.

+ Experience in Syslog, Splunk HTTP Event collection (HEC).

+ Experience in ingesting logs from DB Connect app.

+ Experience creating Alerts, Dashboards and reports in Splunk Tool.

+ Experience in requirement gathering and documentation.

+ Experience in Log parsing, lookups, calculated fields extractions using regular expression(regex).

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86425 to $159165.
