Loading and operating power injections for contrast media administration

Summary:
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. They prepare patients for the procedure, position patients with considerations for safety and image accuracy, ensure proper imaging protocols are followed, and work closely with radiologists to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. CT Techs also maintain equipment, keep patient records, and follow safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure and provide compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
Essential Work Functions:
Operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
Provide high-quality images to Radiologist for interpretation
Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality
Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital's system
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
Ability to adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice

Responsibilities
Position is within a CT department at a large, high-acuity hospital
Primary responsibilities include performing diagnostic CT and X-ray procedures
Department handles a typical volume of 270-290 scans per day
Uses GE and Canon CT equipment with Epic EMR system
Work schedule consists of 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, scheduled Thursday, Friday, and every other weekend
Holiday shifts are assigned as part of the rotation
Performs diagnostic radiology exams according to ARRT and department guidelines
Responsible for ensuring radiation safety for patients and self
Prepares and positions patients for imaging studies following department protocols
Charcoal grey scrubs are the required dress code
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience as a CTTechnologist
Current ARRT certification in both CT and X-ray
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
BLS certification required
Must hold an Ohio State License or have a pending license; license required if applicable
Experience in a large hospital setting preferred
Permanent residence must be more than 100 miles from central Columbus, OH to be eligible

OhioHealth is hiring for a full-time, night shift registered senior Radiology Technologist in the Freestanding ED department located in Obetz. The scheduled hours are 7:00p-7:00a, with every other weekend rotation. On Call requirement is 1-2x per month. Manager is open to training a newly licensed radiology technologist looking to grow into the CT modality.
This position prepares patients for examinations and preforms diagnostic radiology procedures following standards and protocols set by OhioHealth and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The position requires the technologist to perform procedures in more than one modality. Therefore, the technologist will be multi-modality trained and/or certified in 2 or more of the following modalities: diagnostics, CT, MR, US, Dexa, or Mammo.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
Conducts routine radiographic studies in diagnostics
Conducts routine and specialized fluoroscopic studies utilizing digital fluoroscope equipment; maintains proficiency in each of these areas
Provides radiation safety for operator and patient
Places patient in proper positions for procedures, adhering to department policy regarding routine.
