Job Mission

The Master Data Management Lead will be responsible for managing the daily creation, maintenance, and management of information in support of Sonoco's Master Data Management and governance initiatives. This position will also serve as analytical support and subject matter expert of Item master data related to the Oracle EBS suite. This position will be an integral part of Sonoco's Master Data Management initiatives that drive data as an asset through supporting the analysis, development, and implementation of focused improvements related to data attributes and intelligence, establishment of global standards and processes for data governance, and implementing measures to manage the quality of our data.

Job Description

Creates, implements, and maintains master data management solutions that enable users to optimize system capabilities.Uses knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements, and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders.Provides data governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the organization.Troubleshoots issues related to master data management and identifies opportunities for improving data management processes.Oversees initiatives for improving data management processes.Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

Major Experience / Education
Four-year degree in information / computer science, data management, business or related field required4-7 years working experience in related data discipline required1-3 years supervisory experience is strongly preferred Experience with Oracle EBS (12.2+) is highly desired Experience with Oracle Agile PDM would be a plus Strong manufacturing understanding and ability to identify dependencies within operational processes on master data required Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to details required Ability to drive process improvements required

Context of the position
This role will be a member of SONOCO's newly formed Enterprise Master Data Management function designed to effectively support Sonoco's ambition to further increase value generation from data while operating in service to the business. The Enterprise MDM organization is positioned within Global Finance and focuses on establishing a Sonoco-wide common foundation that is needed to realize our data ambition, including data & information governance and corresponding data architecture. The ambition of the MDM organization is to ensure availability of high quality and trusted data for Sonoco management, employees and customers. By treating data as a valuable asset, we are able to unlock its value for Sonoco and increase our revenue, realize operational excellence and protect our company.

The Role

Veeva Link's vision is to build connected data applications that improve research and patient outcomes. These data applications give access to high-quality people profiles built by our Base Data team.

As a Lead for one of our Base Data teams, you will lead a remote team of 50 freelancers who do rule-based Web research on people and enter their findings into our in-house data capturing system. You plan and control this transactional data production process and support its execution by removing barriers for your team members. To increase process efficiency and reduce defects, you run lean six sigma projects in your own team and in other teams. You help your direct reports to improve their performance and grow into larger roles. As a first-line manager and servant leader, you deliver results while keeping your team engaged.

As a Lead, Data Platform Strategist in the Data Platform team of the Product Platform organization, you will be expected to drive analysis, create presentations for senior executives and work closely with cross-functional leaders throughout the company with minimal supervision.
