The Test Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and improving test processes for test equipment used to control measure and control the quality of Solar Modules in a high volume fully automated solar manufacturing line. The Test Engineer works closely with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to continually improve the product and test equipment, that ultimately drives the overall quality and performance of the product.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain test procedures, protocols, and documentation for solar module manufacturing testing equipment that ensures accurate and thorough evaluation of the product performance to company and industry standards.
Conduct functional, performance, reliability, and validation testing with manual and automated systems on solar products in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Troubleshoot product and test equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with cross functional teams.
Define and drive control plans, FMEAs and OCAPs for the various test equipment and processes to ensure zero factory escapes of non-conforming products
Analyze test data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Ensure test equipment control plans are clearly defined with proper calibration, monitoring, SPC, standards and other tools and processes.
Support new equipment installation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and validation for robotic and automated production lines.
Optimize test stations, fixtures, and instrumentation to improve accuracy, throughput, and reliability.
Ensure proper tools/hardware, processes and training in place to allow for safe operation of all test equipment
Work with engineering teams to define test requirements for new processes, materials or product changes.
Perform debugging on robotic systems, sensors, PLCs, vision systems, and electrical control panels.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers during equipment acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and internal quality systems.
Maintain test records, calibration logs, and equipment documentation.
Provide technical training and guidance to technicians, engineers and operators on test procedures and equipment usage.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related Engineering/physical science field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Test Engineer in robotics, automation, solar manufacturing, semiconductor, or comparable high tech manufacturing environments
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for electrical, mechanical, and software related failures.
Experience developing and executing test procedures, data capture, and analysis.
Proficiency with test and measurement.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and equipment validation.
Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Preferred:
Experience in solar module manufacturing or related energy/semiconductor industries.
Familiarity with MES/ERP systems and data collection tools.
Working knowledge of programming or scripting for automation or data analysis (Python, LabVIEW, PLC logic, etc.).
Experience with DOE, FMEA, SPC, and other engineering best practices.

Education, Experience, and Training

3. Experience in planning and designing correctional facilities preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain test procedures, protocols, and documentation for solar module manufacturing testing equipment that ensures accurate and thorough evaluation of the product performance to company and industry standards.
Conduct functional, performance, reliability, and validation testing with manual and automated systems on solar products in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Troubleshoot product and test equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with cross functional teams.
Define and drive control plans, FMEAs and OCAPs for the various test equipment and processes to ensure zero factory escapes of non-conforming products
Analyze test data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Ensure test equipment control plans are clearly defined with proper calibration, monitoring, SPC, standards and other tools and processes.
Support new equipment installation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and validation for robotic and automated production lines.
Optimize test stations, fixtures, and instrumentation to improve accuracy, throughput, and reliability.
