What you'll achieve
In this position as Energy Compliance Test Engineer , you will be responsible for leading energy compliance testing and certification efforts for Dell Technologies' enterprise products. You will work with cross-functional teams across engineering, sustainability, and regulatory compliance to ensure products meet ENERGY STAR and global energy efficiency standards. The Mechanical Engineer is a hands-on position involving designing, building, and maintaining automated production equipment throughout its lifecycle. This role will be responsible for design, assembly, installation, qualification, ongoing maintenance, and optimization of automated production systems requiring expert troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies and systems, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to ensure efficient, reliable manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain novel automated systems and solutions that contribute to current manufacturing and scale up of manufacturing operations to eventual commercialization.
Document equipment and procedures though User Requirements Specifications, detailed mechanical, electrical, and assembly drawings, and use and maintenance SOPs. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.

Qualifications
BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 2-5 years of experience in designing, building, installing, qualifying, and maintaining automated systems for high volume medical device manufacturing.
Experience writing and executing IQ, OQ and PQ protocols.
Experience developing URS, FAT and SAT documents for automated equipment
3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar) as well as Mechanical design of fixtures, assemblies and equipment.
Understanding and working knowledge of mechanical linkages, power transmissions and practices.
Understanding of diverse fabrication techniques, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability

Engineer - Test Engineering, Product Development
About the Role
As a Test Engineer in our Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cost-effective methods for testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment throughout the product development and manufacturing phases. You will prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products. Working with moderate guidance, you will plan labor, schedules, and equipment requirements for testing and evaluating both standard and specialized devices, while continuously developing your technical expertise in test engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Test Case Development: Design and implement comprehensive test cases and methodologies to ensure product reliability and quality across multiple projects.
* Diagnostic Testing: Create and execute diagnostic testing programs that effectively identify performance issues throughout various product development phases.
* Test Fixtures Design: Develop specialized test fixtures and equipment that accurately measure and validate product specifications under various conditions.
* Procedure Development: Define and document test setups and procedures that ensure devices comply with industry and company standards.
* Resource Planning: Plan and coordinate resources including labor, schedules, and equipment allocation to optimize testing activities and timelines.
* Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues in systems and equipment throughout the development process, applying analytical problem-solving techniques.
* Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain testing processes that adhere to established quality standards and requirements.
* Qualification Testing: Lead qualification efforts for product lines to meet market standards and customer requirements.
* PCB Design: Design and oversee the manufacture of PCBs for test setups and evaluation boards that enable effective product testing.
Must Have Skills
* Test Case Development: Ability to design structured test methodologies that thoroughly validate product functionality against specifications, with competence in applying standard test principles.
* Diagnostic Testing: Proficiency in creating and executing diagnostic programs to effectively identify product defects and performance issues across development phases.
* Test Fixtures Design: Experience designing and developing moderate-complexity test fixtures and equipment that accurately measure product parameters.
* Procedure Development: Capability to define clear test setups and write detailed procedures that ensure consistent testing approaches and results.
* Resource Planning: Skills in estimating and coordinating resource requirements for testing activities, including scheduling and equipment allocation.
* Troubleshooting: Demonstrated analytical approach to identifying and resolving moderately complex technical problems in systems and equipment.
* Quality Assurance: Working knowledge of quality standards and ability to implement appropriate testing processes to meet quality requirements.
* Qualification Testing: Understanding of qualification testing methodologies and ability to lead qualification efforts for assigned product lines.
* PCB Design: Technical knowledge of PCB design principles and ability to design boards for test setups and evaluation purposes.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Bachelor's or Master degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 0-2 years of relevant experience in test engineering or a related discipline.
