We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong experience in solid modeling and mechanical design. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in utilizing SolidWorks, performing stress analysis, and interpreting complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions. A high level of mechanical aptitude and a fundamental understanding of electrical systems are essential for this role. Responsibilities + Provide engineering support for new product development projects in a lead role. + Interface with Product Group leaders, Project managers, and ECO liaisons to enhance existing products. + Provide direction to others in assigned project development activities. + Design solutions that meet specific needs outlined in Engineering Change requests. + Conduct engineering and Finite Element Analysis as required by the project scope. + Collaborate with vendors to ensure product development needs are met. + Write test plans and quality documents. + Generate manufacturing-ready designs, ensuring alignment with factory capabilities. + Execute engineering analysis and adhere to high-level accepted engineering practices. Essential Skills + Proficient in SolidWorks and solid modeling. + Strong drafting ability with knowledge of dimensional callouts, tolerances, and symbols. + Experience in stress analysis and mechanical design. + Ability to read and interpret complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions. + Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electrical systems. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. + Proficiency in advanced mathematical concepts and operations. + Skill in developing test fixtures and performing design element testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. + Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, and manufacturability. + Knowledge of drafting, GD&T, and change orders. + Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes. Work Environment The role is primarily on-site in Jackson, with the possibility of hybrid work arrangements.
