Video & Motion Designer
Karya Technologies 3.9
Remote job
About Karya:
Why was Karya on the cover of the Time Magazine , highlighted by Satya Nadella , and invited to present its work to Sundar Pichai one on one?
In part, because Karya is on a mission to provide AI enabled earning and learning opportunities to communities with high talent, but low access to opportunities. Karya achieves this while also delivering high quality, timely, and price competitive data to its clients.
Karya builds high quality datasets for large companies like Google and Microsoft, while providing ethical work opportunities and fair wages to its workforce.
Karya's workers make nearly 20 times the Indian minimum wage and through our one-of-a-kind digital work platform, we have delivered over 40 million digital tasks and have positively impacted over 100 thousand workers. In the coming years, our goal is to rapidly scale our impact by bringing economic opportunities to millions of underserved users in India. With a rapidly growing global presence, we are also looking to expand our client base in the Indian market by partnering with leading Indian enterprises.
About the Role:
Karya is looking for a graphic design-led motion designer who thinks in layouts, systems, and visual clarity first - and uses motion as a tool to enhance understanding and storytelling.
This is not a videography or filming role. We're looking for someone grounded in visual design, typography, composition, and information hierarchy, who can translate static ideas into clear, lightweight motion.
You'll work across two core areas:
Learning & Instructional Design:
Motion-led training content for rural, multilingual, and first-time smartphone users
Brand & Storytelling:
Explainers, motion systems, and visual narratives for partners, funders, and public-facing communication
This role sits within the Storytelling Team and works closely with Product Design, Instructional Design, and Brand.
What You'll Do
Design storyboards, frames, and visual systems before animating.
Create motion-first learning content: static + audio videos, simple animations, voiceover-led explainers, and walkthroughs
Translate scripts and concepts into clear visual sequences using layout, iconography, type, and motion
Develop reusable motion templates and systems aligned with Karya's brand
Collaborate with:
Content writers, translators, and instructional designers for clarity and accessibility
Product and learning teams to ensure content reflects real user needs
Design and brand teams to maintain visual consistency across motion assets
Iterate quickly - low fidelity first, refined through testing and feedback
Design for clarity over cleverness, especially for low-literacy or first-time digital users
What You Bring
2+ years of experience in graphic design with a strong motion design component
A solid foundation in:
Layout and visual hierarchy
Typography and iconography
Storyboarding and information design
Ability to simplify complex ideas visually before animating them
Comfort with tools such as:
After Effects (primary)
Illustrator / Figma / Canva (for design-first workflows)
Premiere Pro (basic edits only - not film-heavy)
Familiarity with lightweight animation formats (Lottie, simple transitions, frame-based motion)
Curiosity about how people learn visually and cognitively
Nice to Have
Experience designing for low-literacy, multilingual, or rural audiences
Background in ed-tech, public-interest tech, or non-profits
Comfort experimenting with AI-assisted design tools (image generation, rapid prototyping)
Knowledge of Indian languages or regional media contexts
What This Role Is
Not
Not a videography or filming role
Not focused on complex character animation or cinematic storytelling
Not social-media-first motion for trends or reels alone
This role is about design clarity, systems thinking, and purposeful motion.
Why This Role Matters
Karya's work reaches people often excluded from mainstream design and technology. Motion design here isn't decoration - it's infrastructure. Your work will shape how people learn new skills, understand digital tools, and engage with AI-enabled work for the first time.
What We Offer
Flexible leave and vacation policy
Remote / hybrid work options
Insurance as per industry standards
Access to leaders in technology and social impact
Meaningful work at the intersection of AI, design, and equity
Karya celebrates diversity and is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered without regard to race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected status.

Advocate for users through the entire product development process
The Team:

Highly developed sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to build consensus, drive alignment, and influence leaders in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
Talent for prioritization, trade-off negotiation, and pivoting as work evolves
Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma), CMSes, and user research platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in behavior change
Experience with 0-1 product development and/or early-stage companies
Experience presenting to and working with senior business leaders
Experience building mobile experiences that drive repeat engagement
Experience with or deep interest in AI and prompting
Success working with/on multi-disciplinary product teams
Experience with health tech, women's health, and/or fertility

Experience founding or substantively scaling content design practices
Experience with conversational design

Higharc
Remote job
About Us
Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who've shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. We have raised a total of $83M with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors-industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.
We're seeking a systematic, product-minded Home DesignLead to help conceptualize and develop families of scalable home designs - homes that can flex across regions, lots, codes, and price points. This is not a traditional architecture role, it's an opportunity to help shape the future of home design at scale.
What You'll Do
You'll help design homes as adaptable, repeatable products, not one-off architectural projects. These will serve as the foundation for a fully automated builder experience. Importantly, this role is part of a broader team of BIM and home design experts. The Home DesignLead will be responsible for conceptual design and for maintaining a standard of care for design quality.
Expect to:
Design adaptable home families and template designs: Create plan templates that work across a wide variety of regions, markets, and lot conditions - from narrow infill lots to wider suburban parcels.
Systematize flexibility: Create robust options and configurations that enable builders to choose from pre-vetted choices for elevations, layouts, and structural details without reinventing the wheel.
Ensure regional code and site adaptability: Incorporate common code settings, foundation systems, and site strategies for national applicability.
Balance design quality and efficiency: Embed value-engineering principles into the design system - delivering homes that are beautiful, buildable, and affordable. Create flexibility through value-engineering options to meet a range of builder cost targets
Contribute to a new kind of plan library: Help define the structure of our option catalog, finish packages, and documentation for small builder workflows.
Participate in design reviews and maintain responsibility for technical accuracy, drawing clarity, and coordination across disciplines
Contribute to the development of standard details, design guidelines, and modeling best practices that support automation and scalability
About You
This role requires a detail-oriented, technically capable designer who can think and work at multiple scales - from site strategy and code compliance to plan configuration logic and value-engineering.
You have:
5+ years of experience in residential architecture or homebuilding, with demonstrated delivery of full CD sets in multiple states
Deep familiarity with single family homes, residential detailing, and single-family code requirements
Experience thinking systematically to balance code, operations, and design tradeoffs at scale
Comfort with parametric design thinking or configuration logic is a plus
Familiarity with building systems, cost-effective detailing, and standard construction methods
Understanding of customer-centric design in a sales or homebuyer context
Exposure to code-driven or computational design tools
Experience working with national or regional production homebuilders
Working at Higharc
Higharc has been remote first since our founding in 2018. We offer flexible hours so you can do your best work without missing out on life. Higharc offers competitive salaries with significant equity, in a fast-growing, well-funded company.
Personal healthiness is an important value for us- we provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with unlimited PTO, and meaningful maternity/paternity leave to all U.S based employees that are full-time. You'll also have access to other big-company benefits such like short and long-term disability plans and a 401K. Haven't worked remotely before? We provide a stipend to create the ideal home office.
