Serve as the primary point of contact for designated large capital equipment installations; meet with the sales representative and contractor at initial job site meeting; and monitors progress through job completion.
Obtain and review all plans and spec sheet information and provides direction to tradesman.
Review all equipment orders to ensure accuracy of required accessories.
Determine project job site readiness prior to HSD installation.
Coordinate equipment delivery details which includes but is not limited to: ensuring the construction site is ready; communication with all 3PLs; and ensures each delivery is correct.
Attends project kick-off and go live date meetings and events.
Acts as primary contact with contractors and suppliers as it relates to the build-out and installation projects.
Communicate with customer and District Installation Manager on the installation progress. Escalate issues to Installation Manager as required.
Owns the overall project punch list to completion.
Review with customer the proper use and care of equipment, which includes walk-through of installation guides when appropriate and coordinates initial third-party training when required.
Handles Disconnect/Reconnect assessment to determine man hours and need for additional trades for projects.
Backup to Equipment Specialist (ES) for Shielding Plan Site Spec.
Assist District Installation Manager in risk management claims or other installation issues.

Summary:
The Landscape Irrigation Installation Crew Leader is responsible for the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and public landscape projects. The technician works closely with project managers, landscape crews, and clients to ensure efficient, high-quality irrigation systems that promote healthy landscapes and water conservation.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and site drawings.
Install irrigation systems, including main and lateral lines, valves, sprinklers, drip systems, controllers, and backflow prevention devices.
Perform trenching, pipe laying, wiring, and all aspects of irrigation system installation.
Ensure all systems are properly connected and tested for coverage, leaks, and proper function.
Program and set up irrigation timers and controllers.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with existing irrigation systems when needed.
Coordinate with foremen and other crews to ensure timely and accurate installation.
Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean, functional condition.
Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and water agency requirements.
Maintain accurate records of installations and materials used.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus).
2+ years of experience in irrigation system installation (landscape industry preferred).
Knowledge of various irrigation products (Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, etc.).
Ability to read plans and install systems to specifications.
Basic electrical knowledge for controller and valve wiring.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record (commercial license is a plus).
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment
Regularly visits and works on active construction job sites.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction-related hazards.
Requires walking on uneven terrain, climbing.
Requires lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, digging, standing for long periods.
May require early morning starts, extended hours, or weekend work depending on project needs.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
* High School, GED Equivalency, and/or Trade School
* Valid Driver's license preferred
* Minimum of 3 years in the pipefitting trade in the institutional, industrial or commercial HVAC sector.
* Experience with various types of pipe and fitment techniques, including screw pipe, grooved, compression, fusion, glue, sweat, braze and weld, of various materials including steel, copper, plastic, fiberglass etc, with diameters ranging from ½" to 6" or greater.
* Hands-on experience with demolition and installation of various types of commercial HVAC equipment and related processes.
* Experience with Sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation (not required, but a plus).
* Experience with electrical and controls installation (not required, but a plus).
* Must be able to pass a government background check, drug test and other site pre-access requirements.
* Apprenticeship program (not required, but a plus).
* OSHA 10 training (not required, but a plus).
* Position requires a willingness to travel to project locations when assigned to work on projects that require onsite presence for extended project durations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with HVAC Foreperson and project team to ensure material and equipment needs are identified and scheduled prior to start of actual work.
* Read and interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and equipment submittals.
* Utilize construction plans to layout and install HVAC equipment and supports.
* Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related domestic water, hydronic and pneumatic system. Systems will vary in complexity, size, and pressure rating.
* Lay-out, fabricate, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain ductwork for ventilation applications. These systems will vary in complexity, size, and rating.
* Must be able to work well with others and be able to take direction.
* Train apprentices in work-related areas to enhance installation knowledge, productivity, and safety.
* Strong organizational and planning skills; Able to effectively allocate and develop resources.
* Reliable, self-motivated, and professional.
* Maintain safe work environment by complying with safety policies and procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically capable of walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, handling, reaching, depth perception, field of vision, balancing, hearing, and talking.
Workers can be subjected to possible bodily injury from pipe fitting equipment, tools, materials, etc. Work environment may include exposure to weather, extreme heat (including humidity) or cold, noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to radiation, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at heights, and working around explosives.
