Lead Instructor Job Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is a tuition free, home, and private school for over 2,000 Pre-K through 12th grade students. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the lives of more than 11,000 students have been positively transformed through MHS's high-quality career-focused education, nurturing home life, and extensive extra-curricular opportunities. Some students do return home over breaks and during the summer months. Many choose to stay at MHS. For these students, we offer the Year-Round Experiences (YRE) program. It operates when school is not in session. Also, students are required to return to MHS two weeks before classes begin in August. During this time, they prepare for the new school year. They also participate in YRE activities and begin sports practices.

MHS is seeking an energetic YRE Lead Instructor (Level 2) for the YRE Program. YRE programming is designed to encourage students to remain on campus in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. A variety of programs provide the MHS students the opportunity to explore a passion or interest in an experiential setting.

The lead instructor is responsible for development and facilitation of programming while ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of the group. Work schedule: hours are flexible based on students' needs and up to 29 hours per week, but most hours would be from 8:15 AM-3:15 PM during scheduled school breaks and/or summer break as schedule permits.

This is an on-site position that pays $18.91 an hour and we do not offer benefits to part-time employees.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Education and/or human services field of study preferred.
Prior successful experience working with children in a school or organizational setting.
Ability to design, lead, and facilitate programming for large and small groups of children and youth
Working knowledge of positive disciplinary practices and understanding of the developmental needs of children from Pre-k through 12th grade.
Valid PA Driver's license in good standing, as this position requires transporting students to and from activities around the campus.
Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills.
CPR/First Aid Certification, a plus.
Must have a desire to work directly with children and youth from a diverse background.
Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for the MHS Students.

Coaching/Professional Development (Instruction by HQ Teachers/HQ Professional Development)

* Represent the district's instructional philosophy and frameworks in all aspects of the position to include professional development, coaching, and curriculum support
* Provide targeted feedback to campus instructional coaches on coaching methodology and content related to the district's instructional program and student achievement
* Implement coaching strategies effectively, such as Cognitive Coaching and Content-focused Coaching, etc.
* Develop and present district professional development to campus instructional coaches and other district staff as needed to include evening and weekends
* Provide feedback to campus instructional coaches on delivery and content
* Provide content area expertise to improve instructional practices
* Strengthen and deepen content knowledge and coaching skills

Data Analysis (Needs Assessment/Assessment Decision Making)

* Use data to assist action/improvement plan development
* Utilize district data to make informed decisions regarding focus and content of professional development
* Facilitate a variety of formative assessment methods for data-driven instruction
* Coordinate data findings with focus of work to include campus selection for services

Curriculum Development/Instructional Support

* Co-create and support a viable and purposeful district curriculum
* Facilitate use of research-based content resources
* Support assessment development
* Collaborate with colleagues and district teachers to develop and support curriculum
* Utilize strategies to include but not limited to instructional models, resources, and coaching to deepen instructional practices that support curriculum
* Communicate the process utilized to develop the curriculum and selection of resources
* Support professional learning community meetings
* Perform all duties as assigned.

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic below are additional duties:

* Technical support to campuses
* Host virtual CIC meetings
* Host virtual PLC meetings with their campuses
* Assist with virtual Principal meetings
* Attend virtual PD to support campuses
* Monitor and assist virtual classes

All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

* Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university in a directly related field; Master's degree preferred
* Valid Texas Teaching certification required: Elementary generalist or concentration in ELA, Math or Science preferred/Secondary certification in a subject area (ELA/MATH/Science) preferred
* Demonstrates strong written and oral language skills
* Demonstrates ability to work and communicate with diverse audience
* Demonstrates excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Oracle
* Five years teaching experience preferred with emphasis in specified content area; evaluation and analysis of assessment and accountability data; development and delivery of professional development; leadership role in campus/department committees; coaching experience
* Knowledge and skills in the use of technology as a resource within the instructional program
* Ability to maintain effective written and oral communication
* Ability to develop and provide professional development to adult learners
* Demonstrate strong content knowledge

MOSAIC is seeking an Instructor level 3 to support a large Prime program in the Ft Belvoir, VA area.

Position Overview:

• Instruct faculty development learning solutions using student-centered approaches

• Instruct via classroom, synchronous online, asynchronous online, and blended delivery methods.

• Provide student-centered approaches using a variety of teaching methods.

• Serve as an ISD using ISD methodologies to design and develop new learning solutions and update existing learning solutions for faculty.

• Research best practices in instruction, learning solution design, and cognitive science theory to provide recommendations for faculty programs.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Master's degree in Education, Instruction Systems Design (ISD), Education Technology, or related area from an accredited academic institution
• Minimum of ten (10) years experience analyzing assessment data; identifying emergent issues.
• Seven (7) years in course development and delivery related to faculty development.
• Minimum seven (7) years experience with delivery and instruction of course content on and off platform.
• Seven (7) years experience supporting the conversion of training into on-line delivery.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required
