Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

* You will facilitate the operations of the MRI department.
* You will assist the MRI Supervisor day-to-day operation of the department keeping in mind and balancing budgetary constraints, equipment and personnel needs, quality improvement and exceptional care for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
* You will demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
* You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients

What qualifications you will need:

* Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
* Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
* Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
* Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

The Imaging Research Center Technologist MRI Lead supervises daily operations on all MR systems. Schedules and coordinates MRI system time for the research projects, provides intensive one-on-one training and daily oversight to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty operating the MRI system and operating the associated stimulus presentation and physiological monitoring equipment. Reports image quality problems directly to Siemens, as well as to the IRC Technical Director and project PIs.

The Imaging Research Center Technologist MRI Lead is responsible for MRI Safety and MRI Operator training.

Required Qualifications

Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.

* (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT
* Current CPR Certification
* Advanced knowledge of MRI and ability to produce scans of optimum quality
* Demonstrates working knowledge of IRC policy and procedures, IACUC and AAALAC requirements
* Knowledge and ability to operate MRI equipment to provide quality images
* Must be able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the radiological field advances.
* Ability to teach MRI safety and applications
* Experience in teaching researchers and lab members, nursing, grad students, physicians, and other staff members. Must have ability to properly motivate researchers to follow policies and procedures
* Skills to coach, instruct, or train personnel regarding the technical functions of the work
* Knowledge of IACUC and AAALAC requirements
* Physical ability to capably perform all functions of an MRI technologist

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

Special Requirements

This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.

Must be able to work extra hours (nights and weekends) on occasion if important development is behind schedule or the correction of problems considered critical. Must be able to work different lunch break hours since meetings are at times held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Must be able to travel to partner sites.
