Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent practical experience.

+ 5 years of experience in subsea telecommunications systems, with a focus on quality, reliability or technical supplier management.

+ Experience working with Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001:2015 or regional equivalents.

+ Experience working with system and component vendors and stakeholders to define roadmaps.

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master's degree or PhD in engineering, physics, chemistry or material science.

+ 5 years of experience designing or assessing high-reliability products, including undersea cables and systems, insulation materials, or high-voltage equipment or components.

+ Experience directly in the manufacturing, design or testing of undersea systems.

+ Experience motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.

+ Experience with metro and long-haul coherent Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical transport systems.

+ Lead Quarterly Quality Reviews with submarine system suppliers.

+ Review, track, and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality established with suppliers for the installed subsea system base.

+ Arrange and staff manufacturing quality and process audits.

+ Review and assess the strategic impact of Qualification Reports for equipment, modules, components or processes.

+ Support Project Managers and Strategic Negotiators during project implementation and post-acceptance periods.

The Lead Production Quality Engineer is responsible for product and process quality review of electrical and mechanical manufacturing at our site in Vandalia, OH. The role requires understanding of a body of theoretical quality tools as well as a strong foundation of functional quality skills. This role includes both quality assurance and quality control, such as quality assurance of products and manufacturing processes as well as conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, and product inspection. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause corrective action are required. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within the site Quality Plan. This role supports first shift Production starting at 6AM.
Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

* Lead non-conformance reviews and maintain NC metrics.
* Develop new countermeasures under guidance and/or in a team setting to reduce losses.
* Assist in the review and closure of non-conformances.
* Work with cross functional teams to drive quality improvements by monitoring metrics, defining problems, working projects, and communicating the results.
* Mentor shop personnel & partner with manufacturing engineering team to expand the team's quality knowledge.
* Consistently apply RCCA methodology; Work with the quality team to proactively analyze data and implement controls to prevent re-occurrence. Participate in RCCA activities and may lead RCCA team(s).
* Manage configuration management and process controls including inspection plans, first article inspections, quality plans, GD&T, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Production Quality).
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in Production Quality

Desired Characteristics:

* Broad understanding of Quality Tools such as RCCA, PFMEA, Gage R&R, and 6M analysis.
* Familiar with process capability measurements & triggers to enhance (CP, CPk, FTY).
* Understanding of MRB
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to work with others and lead small teams.
* Effective problem identification and solution skills.
* Proven analytical and organizational ability. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute projects.

Overview

The Quality Engineering team is seeking a Lead Manual Performance Test Engineer. As a team member, this Lead QE Engineer will work closely with members of the QE, Product Management, and Development teams to define the test strategy, plan and test cases for manual test cycles, including functional, regression, and smoke testing. The ideal Lead Quality Engineer would have a firm grip on the business, technical, and operational requirements and would be vital to building an efficient test strategy and plan. Ultimately, the Lead QE Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality products on schedule and demonstrating the same via defined metrics. Responsibilities

• Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities
• Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
• Knowledge in building projects using Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an embedded system involving firmware and hardware testing is required
• A thorough understanding of test processes and test methodologies, including knowledge and experience with test automation, concepts, theories, and best practices
• Experience in providing and presenting project status reports through the development cycle
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality software to production within tight schedules is required
• Knowledge of Automation Tools like QTP and Selenium and experience with Agile software development methodologies is a preferred
• Experience with defect tracking systems, test management systems, and software revision control is required
• Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality is critical
• Experience in IP and networking protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, Ethernet, IGMP, DHCP, Active directory) is required
• Experience in audio and video testing is a plus
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Excellent team player with a consistently positive attitude and collaborative approach to problem-solving
• The ability to multitask and manage multiple large scale projects is critical
• Team-oriented; strong interpersonal skills are essential
