Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Elementary School Teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress; addressing the specific educational needs of individual students; and creating a flexible, safe, and supportive learning environment. The teacher provides ongoing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals. Essential Functions: * Develops and delivers elementary curriculum aligned with district goals, objectives, and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. * Creates a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction. * Designs lesson plans and instructional materials and effectively translates them into meaningful learning experiences. * Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners. * Provides individual and small-group instruction to support student growth and mastery of skills. * Instructs students in responsible citizenship and subject matter in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies. * Maintains accurate and complete records for student attendance, achievement, grading, and progress in compliance with district procedures and state requirements. * Communicates effectively and regularly with parents and guardians to encourage involvement in student learning. * Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior consistent with school and district policies to support a productive learning environment. * Collaborates with grade-level colleagues and other elementary staff to evaluate curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes; participates in faculty meetings and committees. * Selects, requisitions, and maintains instructional materials, supplies, and equipment. * Supervises students during school activities outside the classroom, including arrival, dismissal, recess, and transportation as assigned. * Administers standardized assessments in accordance with district and state testing programs.
