Job Description: The PreK-2nd Grade Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic support in mathematics and literacy for students in prekindergarten through second grade who are performing below grade level expectations. This position works within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to deliver evidence-based interventions and collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure student success in foundational academic skills. Interventionists are responsible for providing both Tier 3 math and literacy support to students in need via 1:1 or small group sessions, and work with classroom teachers to provide classroom-level, teacher-led Tier 2 intervention support during intervention blocks. Purpose: To provide support to the Preschool teachers in implementing the daily learning plans and schedules To assist Preschool students in their developmental growth following the direction of the Preschool teacher To provide supervision of the Preschool students in a calm and caring manner Primary Functions Assist in delivery of instruction and support the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being of the children Assist in day-to-day classroom operations Supervise children throughout the day, including preparations, before school care, lunch, recess, and rest times for preschool students Qualifications include: High school diploma and either a). 2,080 hours as an aide or student intern or b). 12 quarter credits Experience in Early Childhood and/or working with preschool children, parents and staff A Christian faith in Jesus Christ Passion for working and playing with preschool-aged children Timeliness, reliability and dependability Strong people skills to interact positively with the children, parents, and staff Ability to actively engage and interact with children in age appropriate activities within a play-based program Support and implementing the mission of the school and the preschool program CPR/First Aid Certification preferred Ability to complete a background check and DHS required training and courses Ability to lift 40 pounds If you are interested in working at Minnehaha Academy, please visit ************************ to complete the online application and attach a resume.
