Job Description: The PreK-2nd Grade Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic support in mathematics and literacy for students in prekindergarten through second grade who are performing below grade level expectations. This position works within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to deliver evidence-based interventions and collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure student success in foundational academic skills. Interventionists are responsible for providing both Tier 3 math and literacy support to students in need via 1:1 or small group sessions, and work with classroom teachers to provide classroom-level, teacher-led Tier 2 intervention support during intervention blocks. Key Responsibilities: Direct Student Instruction: Provide small group and individual intervention instruction in early literacy and numeracy skills Implement evidence-based intervention programs for PreK-2nd grade students Deliver targeted instruction in, but not limited to, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension Provide math intervention focusing on, but not limited to, number sense, counting, basic operations, and problem-solving Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and developmental levels Assessment and Data Management: Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify specific skill deficits Administer progress monitoring assessments and track student growth Analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions Maintain detailed records of student progress and intervention fidelity utilizing data platforms Prepare data reports for MTSS team meetings Prepare intervention suggestions for SST grade level referrals Document intervention effectiveness and make recommendations for next steps Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with core instruction Participate in MTSS/SST team meetings and data analysis sessions Communicate regularly with families about student progress and home support strategies Coordinate with other student support teams for referral processes when appropriate Work with related service providers (speech, OT, etc.) as needed Support classroom teachers with differentiation strategies Program Support: Maintain and organize intervention materials and resources Assist with school-wide screening and assessment administration Participate in professional development related to literacy and math intervention Support transition planning between grade levels Contribute to building-level literacy and math improvement initiatives Leadership Duties: Supervise and manage team of interventionists Conduct classroom observations and performance evaluations Lead team meetings Provide coaching and mentoring to intervention staff Manage hiring, onboarding, and professional development for team members Handle performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions Approve schedules, time off requests, and manage staffing coverage Develop and implement district-wide intervention policies Design MTSS intervention framework and intervention protocols Analyze school-wide academic data to inform program decisions Coordinate intervention scheduling and student caseload distribution Ensure fidelity of intervention implementation across all classrooms Evaluate program effectiveness and make continuous improvements Collaborate with instructional leads and classroom teachers on Tier 2 support Participate in district leadership meetings and strategic planning Coordinate with SST lead on referral processes for Tier 3 support Partner with principals to align building-level goals Design and deliver professional development on interventions Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, ADSIS goals, and charter goals Ensure data tracking as outlined by ADSIS Stay current on intervention and academic research and best practices Prepare reports for administration and school board, as needed Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field Valid Minnesota teaching license with early childhood or elementary endorsement Experience teaching PreK-2nd grade students Knowledge of early literacy and numeracy development Understanding of MTSS/RTI frameworks Strong classroom management and behavior support skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Ability to work with diverse learners and families Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Reading, Mathematics Education, or Special Education Reading specialist or math specialist certification Experience with intervention programs (EL Education Skills Block, Envisions Math, Bridges Math) Training in early childhood assessment tools Spanish speaker Experience working with students with disabilities Reports To: Intervention Lead(s) Working Conditions: School-based position working with small groups of young children in various classroom and intervention settings Commitment to Equity: Partnership Academy is committed to equity and diversifying its workforce to better reflect the community we serve as outlined in our Values in Action and Racial Equity in Educational Achievement Policy.
