Qualifications
Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively
CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
Meet state specific qualifications for the role or willingness to obtain
Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (or willing to obtain)
Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
Able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a full-time position that follows a traditional school year schedule. About the Team The Day School is an approved private school licensed by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Private Academic Schools and approved as a special education school by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Families and school districts alike have connected with our expert educational team to bring specialized education and related services, including autism support and multiple disabilities support, to nearly 200 students from 60+ school districts across western Pennsylvania each year. About the Position The Teacher's Aide is responsible for assisting with the classroom team, behavioral specialists, occupational, speech, and physical therapists, school districts, and families to help our amazing students achieve their educational goals. Responsibilities include:
Assisting students to use instructional materials and equipment
Helping Teacher get ready for the school day
Performing necessary personal care for students
Performing feeding, lifting, positioning and toileting duties for students as needed
Assist students in all areas of The Day School as directed
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
One (1) or more years of experience working with children.
Experience working with exceptional children in an educational setting is preferred.
Clearances: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse
Act 73 FBI, State Act 34-Criminal, and State Act 33-Child Abuse Clearances
Current and valid CPR and First Aid certification preferred (will provide training)
