The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

Under direct supervision of the Preschool Director, the Kindergarten Teacher will participate in the planning and operation of the Preschool Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with adults and children.
* Work with individual and small groups of children.
* Maintain acceptable standards of behavior among students at all times.
* Plan and organize to meet fixed schedules.
* Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

* Use games, music, artwork, films, books, computers, and other tools to teach basic skills.
* Use play and hands-on teaching.
* Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
* Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
* Stay current on topics in education.
* Develop lesson plans.
* Utilize various curriculum resources.
* Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
* Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
* Develop incentives to keep participants engaged in classroom activities.
* Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.
* Utilize public library resources.
* Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.

EDUCATION
* Bachelor's Degree in Education required
* Teaching credential preferred
* First Aide Certification
EXPERIENCE
* 1-2 years' experience working with children in an educational setting

The Associate Teacher is responsible for assisting the LeadTeacher in developing and implementing the daily curriculum while ensuring the safety of the children in their care. They will provide direction for children and implement program curriculum. Additionally, Associate Teachers provide quality experience for children and parents by promoting achievement and building relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure safety of children enrolled in program.
Assists in preparing and executing the curriculum and daily schedule for a program promoting inclusive support for all children, addressing their unique strengths and needs.
Assist in maintaining a well-organized safe and attractive classroom and outdoor space in accordance with the Infant/Toddler Environmental Rating Scale and CLASS Environments
Assist with indoor/outdoor set-up and clean-up.
Maintain ongoing communication and positive relationships with children, parents, staff, community members and organizations.
Carry out effective behavior management techniques in accordance with the YMCA behavior management policies and procedures.
7. Observe children daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth linking to appropriate desired result measures.
Completes Developmental profiles and written goals for children in your primary group within 60 days of enrollment and every six months thereafter.
Assist with food service and appropriate documentation following federal food program guidelines.
Maintain an attitude of dignity and respect toward children, parents, and staff.
Maintain Pediatric first aid & CPR, mandated reporter training, and other training and certifications as assigned.
Complete 21 hours of professional growth and development yearly.
Any other duties related to the operation of the classroom as assigned.

Current approved EMSA First Aid, Adult, Infant, and Child CPR certifications (or obtained within 30 days of employment).
Proof of Immunizations: TB, Influenza (limited exceptions), pertussis, and measles vaccination.
