Job Title: Aircraft Lead Technician
Department: Technical Operations Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Station Manager
The Aircraft Lead Technician at Global Crossing Airlines plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of our fleet. This position is responsible for leading maintenance crews during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and servicing of company aircraft. The Lead Technician will serve as the primary point of contact for technical guidance and work execution on their shift and will coordinate directly with the Supervisor/Station Manager and other departments to ensure seamless operation and compliance with all regulatory and company procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct daily crew briefings and assign tasks based on operational needs.
Manage the execution of maintenance activities (mechanical, avionics, and interiors) to support on-time and squawk-free aircraft departures.
Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with GMM, FARs, and applicable procedures.
Enter required maintenance data and corrective actions into TRAX or other maintenance tracking systems.
Lead and supervise maintenance technicians and support personnel; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Perform R.O.N. (Remain Overnight) checks and coordinate aircraft towing to appropriate gates for scheduled departures.
Conduct audits of completed aircraft documentation including logbook pages, work cards, non-routines, and engineering documents (EOs, EAs, etc.).
Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to ensure technicians meet and maintain qualification standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by enforcing a “clean as you go” policy.
Ensure accurate and timely shift turnover communication, both verbally and in writing.
Actively contribute to process improvement and team efficiency initiatives.
Support personnel management activities including performance monitoring, mentoring, and discipline as required.
Maintain awareness of company communications, including shift emails and procedural updates.
Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification required.
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (line or heavy).
Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced maintenance environment preferred.
Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively under time constraints.
Strong working knowledge of aviation safety protocols, FAR Part 121 regulations, and technical procedures.
Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., TRAX) and Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and maintain a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in airport ramp and hangar environments with exposure to weather, noise, and moving equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions including bending, standing, climbing, and kneeling.
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Prepares, reviews, and processes purchasing documents. Maintains assigned inventory; prepares purchase orders for needed software, communications, materials, equipment, and supplies; receives and distributes incoming shipments; reviews and forwards for payment.
Prepares various department network documents requiring knowledge of department policies, programs, and procedures and which may involve researching, compiling, analyzing, retrieving and/or summarizing data.
Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding assigned technology functions; serves as liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other departments in regards to purchasing policies and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of experience performing technical support and/or telecommunications work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Associate's Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems or Computer Science preferred.

The Lead Technician position requires your experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using your leadership and mentoring skills in driving a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.
Pay Range: $21.06 - $41.57

**Responsibilities**
+ Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
+ Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
+ Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous **_paid_** formal training.
+ Assist and train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
+ Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1 - A8 within first two years of employment. (Tests and registrations fees are paid for by company pass or fail. Technicians receive bonus for each test passed)
