Job Description The data analyst role is part of the analytics team, will report to the Head of Data Science. S/he will be responsible for performing deep-dive analysis to understand and optimize key levers of our product's marketing funnel: acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for designing core metrics that serve as North Stars for team efforts and OKRs. A successful candidate in this role has the opportunity to contribute to creating a foundation of analytical excellence at the League and promoting a culture of data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a robust knowledge of SQL, and experience using programming languages such as python/R to automate their analyses and analytical work. Responsibilities: Directly own the creation of key company metrics used to track aggregate company OKR performance Conduct quarterly prioritized analysis projects targeted at revenue and user growth Conduct ad-hoc analyses as defined by cross-functional partners and prioritized weekly Manage and maintain dashboards in Periscope that relate operational performance across company departments and track key company metrics Work with product managers and engineers to design data products and run A/B experiments Work directly with product and business stakeholders to translate the questions and hypotheses into structured analysis. In this role, the Head of Analytics ensures that the business in its various departments understands its own health, finds growth levers, and identifies opportunities for optimization. The Head of Analytics is in charge of driving the day-to-day analytical approaches and exploring solutions to particular problems. The Head of Analytics additionally defines the business questions that need be answered and defines appropriate analytics models in addition to identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis. In his leadership capacity, the Head of Analytics takes initiative in developing a training programs meant for improving the departmental heads' understanding of the use of data, which improves decision-making across the business. In this capacity, the Head of Analytics will also play a mentorship role to key data analytics and warehousing personnel, constantly honing their professional skills, and preparing them for the occupation of his position in future. Operations Duties: Operational tasks that require detailed data analysis will often fall under both Analytics & Operations. Qualifications This role supports the needs of marketing, product, and finance. This leader is responsible for producing marketing analytics, product analytics, and business/financial analytics as well as insights. Education: The Head of Analytics has to have a master's degree (Phd preferred) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration, or any other related field. An equivalent of this requirement in working experience is also acceptable for the position. Experience: Experience managing a P&L and/or reporting to a CEO a plus. A candidate for this position must have had at least 7 years of working experience in a data analyst or data warehousing position, preferably working as a Senior Data Analyst in a fast-paced and complex business setting. The candidate will also have had a proven and successful experience in the execution of data analytics initiatives, leading to the development of useful insights and the improvement of a business's performance and driving top-line growth. The Head of Analytics will be meant to interact with numerous departments' personnel and departmental heads/management aiding them in the proper application of data, leading to functional improvement. As a departmental leader, the clarity of his communications down the line will be a major contributing factor to the performance and effectiveness of the junior data analytics personnel. More so, communication skills will be necessary in the creation of engaging reports and presentations for senior data analytics management and key stakeholders. These reports must be engaging, clear, concise, and convincing, having been tailored in such a manner that will suit and appeal to the audience at hand. Computer Skills/Ms Office/Software: The Head of Analytics must also have excellent computer skills and be highly proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint, which will all be necessary in the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports, for departmental heads/management, senior data analytics management, and key stakeholders. The Head of Analytics will further demonstrate skills in Salesforce, SQL server reporting services, Tableau, analysis services, or any other data visualization tools. Analytics: A candidate for this position must demonstrate a passion for research and data and be highly skilled in performing quantitative analyses on various business functions, for example, on consumer behavior and trends. The candidate must also be highly skilled in the use of SQL, being able to draw complex queries that ultimately lead to improvements in business performance. The League is live in six cities, brings in WELL OVER SIX FIGURES of revenue each month, and has hundreds of thousands of people in other metros waiting for its launch in their city. Job Description We have found product market fit, a successful business model, and we are finally ready for a senior technical leader who will come in, take charge, and bring our iOS and Android apps to the next level! As the VP-Engineering at The League, you will be responsible for building our in-house engineering team and driving the The League App forward in quality, features, and scalability. We're looking for an exceptionally talented senior backend engineer who has scaled platforms to at least 1M DAUs and has made the jump to management, but is not afraid of getting their hands dirty on the back-end. As an experienced engineer you will set the quality bar and be relied upon to deliver an app experience that is in a league of its own. THE STACK: Our app is built on Node.js, Postgres, Redis, ElasticSearch, and our frontend is iOS and Android. THE TEAM: Our team is growing rapidly, currently with about 8 engineering contractors: 3 front-end, 4 back-end, and 1 back-end intern. We have 1 full-time onsite tester working alongside an outsourced QA team. We have another 8 full-time people on the support and marketing side. Job Duties Build out an awesome best-in-class engineering culture! Own the product roadmap and work with PM & CEO to add new items to it regularly. Make technical and product decisions based on roadmap. Own and monitor product analytics, recommend improvements to increase revenue and engagement, decrease churn. Source, vet, and hire full-time engineer employees. Manage engineers and contractors. Create weekly sprints. Mentor junior engineers. Dictate deployment workflow process to ensure highest level of productivity. Code review PRs to ensure engineers are following best practices. Build engineering culture; hold engineers accountable when sprints are missed; reward engineers when they make it. Handle all Dev Ops, lead search for Dev Ops team if needed. Own engineering budget and reduce burn strategically. Prioritize pivotal with PM weekly. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: At least 7 years experience in software/computer engineering At least 2 years managing teams of engineers. Experience hiring and building a team from the ground up. Experience collaborating with other engineers to create apps with significant design and back-end engineering aspects Proven experience implementing and monitoring in-app analytics. Natural at debugging and profiling own applications. Experience with AWS, basic dev ops, and scaling infrastructure to support increases in users. Experienced in SQL and Postgres. Familiar and up-to-date on mobile architecture design. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline Preferred Qualifications At least 3 years of experience developing, releasing and maintaining native iOS or Android applications. (We'd love to see your work in the App Store!) Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK, Swift (Android a bonus!).
