About the Role The YouthCounselor will be primarily responsible for building healthy relationships with each person supported and providing adequate care, safety, custody, control and counseling with the aim of allowing the youth to become a productive member of society.
What You'll Do
* Provides direct supervision and be accountable for whereabouts of persons always supported.

* Participates in the planning and execution of educational, recreational, and personal enrichment activities.

* Interacts and communicates with Rising Ground staff in matters related to, but not limited to, the needs of the residents and the program, in general.
* Attend all mandatory training required by ACS, OCFS and the Agency.
* Responsible for adhering to all ACS, OCFS and agency regulations.
* Uphold rules, repertoire of responses, confrontation techniques, application of the restriction system, negotiating restrictions, Force Fields, utilization of Safe Crisis Management techniques when necessary.
* Manages the peer group, understands peer group dynamics, promotes and maintains a positive peer group culture.
* Attention to and support of medical issues, student educational needs, casework, clinical appointments, etc. Monitors persons supported in Family Court.
* Completes log reports, complete behavior assessment reports, and submits documentation, incident reports.
* Informs the Case Planner and supervisors of any issues related to the youth or their families as they become aware of such information
* Ability to work various hours and days of the week
* Performs other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications
* High School Diploma + 3 Years of Direct Services in Mental Health or Juvenile Justice Programming
* Associate's degree + 2 Years of Direct Services in Mental Health or Juvenile Justice Programming

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a 40-hour nonexempt position. Mandatory overtime is to be expected based on the needs of the program on various shifts. This is not a work from home position. Staff are paid for 8 hours straight time and are expected to eat with residents during mealtimes.
Travel (if required): None- Program travel is only during program hours.
Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs. * Staff are expected to address any behavioral issues or concerns during the transport and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate team members.
* Staff are required to follow the supervision protocol while in transit and complete any necessary documentation once arriving back to the campus.
* Program Delivery:
* Supervise, assist, and teach residents to perform all activities of daily living, including self-care, chores, etc.
* Initiate, support and escort residents to planned recreation and other therapeutic educational activities. Look for ways to improve the daily structure, coordination, and overall program implementation. This includes driving an agency vehicle if deemed certified, as needed/expected.
* Implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) System fully and in accordance with training. At all times model the core values of ROAR (respect, on task, act safely and be responsible) and frame corrections of student behaviors in a positive way.
Your Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED required.
* Valid Driver's license with a safe driving record as determined by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles
* At least 3+ years of working in a Residential Treatment Center
* Experience working with children or adolescents with emotional, behavioral, or developmental disabilities in a residential, educational, or therapeutic setting.

REPORTS TO: Lead Shift Youth Care Worker
CGS's Unaccompanied Alien Children Services Program serves children/youth presenting a range of challenging behaviors, especially those related to symptoms of trauma. The Program's services are provided by bilingual (Spanish/English) staff who receives specialized training in the special needs of refugee children and in Evidence-Based Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). The program provides a safe, therapeutic environment in a family-like setting that addresses the requirements of each child/youth in a manner that is sensitive to his or her age; preserves cultural, ethnic and religious heritage; and meets dietary needs, native language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other critical individual needs. The program operates under the overall supervision of the Program Director.
BASIC FUNCTION
The youth care worker works as scheduled in the shelter, providing supervision, support and direction to children fostering their positive growth and development; maintains a hazard free , clean and orderly household; prepares meals to conform to menus; completes all required logs, forms and reports; participates in meetings as scheduled; accompanies groups or individual children for outside activities or appointments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Provides a warm, homelike atmosphere by establishing an individual relationship with each child focusing on that child's positive growth and development.
Under the supervision of the Lead Shift Youth Care Worker, ensures an orderly schedule for the children by supervising their daily activities: wake-up, school or other program attendance, mealtime, study time, assigned age appropriate chores and bedtime, monitors individual appointments for each child to ensure punctual attendance.
Monitors each child's physical well being, ensuring suitable clothing, adequate food and all required medical treatments, including the dispensing of medication.
Communicates and reinforces structure and limits with each child; applies positive discipline in a fair and objective manner and appropriate to level of development.
Accompanies and transports children to outside activities (including supervised recreation) and appointments as required.
Maintains a hazard free, clean and orderly household by promptly reporting maintenance problems to the supervisory staff and by completion of assigned household chores in a timely and efficient manner.
Prepares meals and snacks under the assignment and direction of the Lead Youth care worker according to posted menus.
Hold petty cash and other valuables of the home as assigned and dispenses according to agency procedures.
Completes all required reports and logs for the Home.
Participates in meetings as required and ensures that treatment plans and programs are carried out on a daily basis.
Attends training and workshops as required by agency to enhance professional growth and child care competency levels.

Job Summary: To ensure all daily living needs and essential treatment services are provided to youth. This involves the implementation of following and adhering to all program scheduling, policies and procedures and staff utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Interventions (TCI) in all programs components and interactions.
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain shift coverage and primary supervision and support of residential clients.
* Set and contribute to a safe, dignified, orderly atmosphere by enforcing program rules, policies, and procedures.
* Respond appropriately to emergencies including contacting appropriate staff and supervisors, interacting with police, fire, and medical personnel as needed.
* Perform daily maintenance duties including, but not limited to.
Cleaning and maintaining communal areas (hallways, kitchen, lounge, main office, computer room, staff bathrooms)
Preparing/serving resident meals as needed.
* Maintain thorough and accurate records, files, correspondence, and statistics; Complete necessary documentation (both hand-written and computer based/data entry) in a timely, accurate, complete, and legible manner.
* May include notations in the shelter log, bed roster, incident reports, late arrivals, sign-in sheets, showers and laundry schedules, and any other forms used or directed by a supervisor.
* Perform intakes with new incoming clients. Intakes include.
Reviewing program agreements and rules, providing a building tour, providing information about local resources (provided in each program's resource binder.)
* Conduct regular rounds of the facility. Rounds include inspecting client living quarters, bathrooms, common rooms, building entrances and exits.
* Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and staff; Respond to client requests; Observe and adhere to client confidentiality standards.
* Ensure effective communication of priority information to all necessary staff and shifts; Participate in staff and shift change meetings as required.
* Provide front desk and other reception duties in a professional and courteous manner, relay timely and accurate messages. Front desk duties also include:
limiting access to facility to clients, staff, and authorized visitors and service providers.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Computer skills, written and oral skills are required. Bi-lingual preferred.
* Candidates must also be flexible to work all shifts including at least one weekend day.
Work Environment:
This position is based at one of our Transitional Independent Living (TIL) Facilities; Residential programs for Runaway/Homeless youth between the ages 16-20 or our Homeless Young Adults HYA); A Residential Program for Homeless young males between the ages 21-24 (HYA).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position is in a 24/7 program. Additionally, evening and weekend hours will be required. Available shifts are based on program need:
Shift Hours: 2 Morning shifts 7am-3pm, 2 Evening shifts 3pm-11pm, 2 Overnight Awake Shifts 11am- 7am
* Shifts will be assigned after completion of TCI & NEO (New Employee Orientation)

Summary:
Early Head Start Visitors will deliver the Early Head Start program at Rising Ground which promotes early literacy in children ages Birth to 3 years old to children and families. Home visitor Coordinate with parents to ensure prenatal well-child exams, immunizations, health screenings, and nutrition assessments are complete and necessary follow-up occurs. Provide support in parent and child activities that encourage developmentally appropriate activities for the changing needs of infants and toddlers.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate, Associate of Arts degree in related field; bachelor's degree in early childhood education preferred
* Two - three years classroom teaching experience in an early childhood program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepares and implements daily lesson plans/learning activities. Monitors children's progress via developmental checklists and observation
* Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, which include families, Social Services staff, clinical consultants, treating therapists (as appropriate), etc.
* Individualize learning activities to meet the developmental needs of each child, including children with disabilities, by working with parents to develop individual goals.
* Conducts home visits to families once a week for 1.5 hours; conducts parent conferences three times per year.
* Responsible for written observations, weekly plans, and quarterly assessments.
* Assists families in developing family goals and provides needed referrals to assist in accomplishing the goals.

Responsibilities

Provides home-based clinical treatment utilizing the Functional Family Therapy - Therapeutic Case Management (FFT-TCM) model to assigned caseload of up to 10 cases and provides coverage for peer's caseload as needed
Manages the extensive travel requirements involved in serving families in their homes.
Conducts assessments including intakes, review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying relational patterns, and individualized treatment planning.
Engages families to sign for services and completes intakes with families within the required ACS timeframes.
Participates in all required agency, model and stakeholder trainings, individual and group coaching and staff meetings.
Adheres to model expectations and implement with fidelity including the timely completion of progress notes, session planning guides, session impact scales and appointment notes in the Care4 documentation system.
Actively participate in weekly consultation and supervision and site visits when they occur.
Consistently meets all program and model Key Performance Indicators (including session pacing, required casework contacts, successful client outcomes, timely completion of Family Assessment Service Plans, data entry in all systems, etc.).
Identify and address family risk factors that give rise to possible child removal, ACS involvement, and out of home placement due to continued referral behavior or new risk/safety factors. This includes the completion of safety plans and incident reports if necessary.
Maintains clear, concise and timely documentation of treatment efforts in progress notes and Family Assessment and Service Planning (FASP) that demonstrate compliance with the FFT-TCM Model and supervisory review feedback.
Manages the extensive documentation requirements in all databases to successfully comply with mandates from agency, ACS and model.
Identify community-based resources for families, collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders/providers (i.e., ACS, schools, doctors, mental health providers, courts, etc.) to monitor participation in services and accompany families to appointments if needed.
Provides 24/7 coverage during the week and participates on a weekend on-call rotational schedule as applicable.

This includes conducting in-depth, trauma-informed home visits; verifying information gathered by the care provider; and assessing all potential risks, protective factors, and support needs. The HS Case Worker collaborates closely with the HS Supervisor and relevant stakeholders including the care provider's case manager and clinician, the sponsor, and, when necessary, family members of the sponsor or minor to ensure the child's safety and well-being. Home Study services are provided throughout the New York City tri-state area and nationally. This role requires frequent travel across states and may include overnight stays to complete in-person assessments as needed.
What You'll Do
* Initiate contact with the referring care provider (e.g., case manager, clinician) upon case activation to review the child's background and coordinate information-sharing
* Review the child's history to guide a trauma-responsive approach and ensure age-appropriate, culturally sensitive engagement throughout the assessment process.
* • Provide Home Study services by conducting in-home assessments and interviews with sponsors and household members to evaluate safety, caregiver capacity, and readiness for reunification.
* • Identify and flag any red Flags or safety concerns (e.g., abuse, neglect, trafficking, special needs, or risk of exploitation) and maintain high-level communication with the HS Supervisor to discuss concerns, timelines, or case support needs.
* • Educate sponsors on reunification responsibilities, including providing a safe and stable home, supporting access to education and healthcare, complying with immigration obligations, and fulfilling the Sponsor Care Agreement. Ensure sponsors are informed of the child's rights, including the right to attend school, be protected from abuse or neglect, and access essential services.
* Submit high-quality Home Study reports within 10 calendar days of referral acceptance, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and alignment with ORR and agency standards.
* Routinely audit and maintain accurate Home Study case Diles (physical and electronic), ensuring all required documents are complete. Close out cases in accordance with ORR and program guidelines, including timely updates to the UC Portal and internal trackers.
* Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or trafficking in accordance with state-specific mandated reporting laws and ORR procedures.
* Be available and Flexible to accommodate evening, after-hours, and weekend work as needed to meet case deadlines and report requirements.
* Complete all required ORR and agency trainings and remain current on child welfare policies, best practices, and program protocols
* Participate in regular supervision, case staffing, and team meetings, both virtually and in person.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain clear, consistent, and timely communication with supervisors. Given the fast-paced nature of the program, strong communication is essential to ensure alignment of priorities, deadlines, and case needs
* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Program Director.
Your Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) or a related Field such as education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral sciences.
* Valid driver's license
* Valid TSA-compliant identification, as travel, including air travel will be required as part of this role
* Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in the social service or child welfare Field.
* Skilled in writing professional, thorough, and timely assessment reports.
* Knowledge of child welfare systems and immigration-related policies
* Familiarity with local community resources and social service systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage high-volume report writing and meet strict deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems (e.g., Connections preferred).
* Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

Program Description: In this new Clinical Support Program, Rising Ground will embed licensed professionals specializing in mental health, substance misuse, and intimate partner violence directly into child protective work in Brooklyn. Responsibilities of the Position: The full-time CASAC is responsible for assessing substance use in families referred to ACS Child Protective Services unit. The CASAC determines the impact of substance use on child safety and recommends appropriate treatment, support or harm reduction services.
This position requires regular in-person presence at an ACS field office in Brooklyn or within the community. Occasional travel to other agency sites or meetings may also be required.
Core responsibilities include:
* Conduct substance use assessments using clinical interviews, screenings, and standardized tools.
