The Leech Lake Tribal College in Cass Lake, Minnesota, is a tribal institution that offers two-year academics and college life opportunities designed to promote the Anishinaabe worldview and its values of humility, truth, courage, love and wisdom. As you prepare for transfer to a four-year program or to enter the workforce, you'll be immersed in the Anishinaabe culture. In addition to your regular coursework, you'll also have classes that focus entirely on the Anishinaabe language, history and culture. To expose many Minnesota residents to this worldview, the college maintains an open admissions policy. This allows any student who is at least 18 years old and has earned a high school diploma or GED the ability to apply. Academics are offered in three departments: Arts and Humanities, Professional Studies and Science and Technology. Fields of study include: * Indigenous Leadership * Construction Trades * Natural Science * Law Enforcement * Liberal Education A number of student charters and organizations are available for you to join to enhance your educational experience and deepen your appreciation of the Anishinaabe people, like AISES, which integrates the Anishinaabe heritage with science and mathematics. This group aims to produce technological professionals whose work shares the values of their ancestors. To be considered for tuition assistance, students must file a FAFSA and complete the Minnesota Indian Scholarship Application.
