LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. Job Summary: This position reports to the Manager of Solar & Storage Ops Engineering and is responsible for Solar O&M support. In this role, the Specialist will provide technical guidance and support for Leeward Solar self-perform O&M plants. This entails: * Performance monitoring of 100+ MW solar plants with central inverters and trackers. * Remote troubleshooting and directing preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance. * Travel to site for field support, assist with repairing faults and/or direct other technicians. * New plant onboarding including reviewing technical design, OEM specs and preparing internal documentation. * Participate in golden row walkdown, new site inspections and issue reports. * Implement LRE integrity management program for plant preventive maintenance. * Perform root cause analysis, and issue RCA reports. * Remote and on-site fault/alarm monitoring, and update fault condition and trouble resolution database * Project manage and deliver cost saving and production improvement projects. * Develop processes to manage solar plant productivity including reliability, condition monitoring, and performance improvement. * Investigate and perform data analysis from SCADA, Ignition and Bazefield. * Develop/update procedures, work orders, SOP's and work instructions and implement them in Maximo * Deliver inputs for annual operating budgets, operational cost models and business cases for plant improvements * Manage projects and contractors related to solar engineering system improvements * Review maintenance findings from solar projects and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades * Document and implement plant configuration changes * Interface with OEM technical teams * Train and mentor on-site technicians The specialist must have a demonstrated ability to resolve technical problems, document work instructions, communicate and manage resources effectively, provide technical support, and provide on-call support. It is expected that the Specialist will deliver complex and time sensitive assignments in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: * 4-Year Bachelors Engineering Degree preferred * 10 or more years of relevant technical experience; hands-on experience with solar central inverters required * Fundamental understanding of electrical power systems design and operation * Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical power systems, especially central inverters such as Sungrow 3600/4400, TMEIC Ninja, SMA SC2475/SC3950/CP800 * Experience with drone IR scanning of solar plants for fault location. Job Summary: Leeward Renewable Energy is currently seeking a SCADA Engineer that will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SCADA systems that monitor and control renewable industrial processes. The role involves creating HMI/SCADA interfaces, integrating PLCs/RTUs and field equipment, ensuring system reliability and cybersecurity, performing system commissioning, and providing technical support. SCADA Engineers manage system updates, optimize data collection and visualization, maintain documentation, and collaborate with operations, IT, and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Essential Functions: * Design, configure, and deploy SCADA architectures (hardware, software, networks, and field devices). * Develop SCADA graphics, HMI screens, dashboards, and alarm logic. * Create PLC-SCADA communication mappings (Modbus, OPC, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, etc.). * Implement new features, upgrades, and system enhancements. * Install, configure, and maintain SCADA servers, clients, historian databases, and communication networks. * Manage user access, backups, automation scripts, and system documentation. * Ensure high system uptime and performance. * Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA, PPC, RTU, and communication network issues. * Provide Level 2/3 technical support to operations and field teams. * Perform root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions. * Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, sensors, instrumentation, and third-party applications. * Lead site commissioning, testing (FAT/SAT), and validation activities. * Collaborate with electrical, and IT teams. * Implement security hardening, patching, and access control policies. * Ensure regulatory compliance for industrial automation systems. * Configure and maintain data historians and reporting tools. * Optimize data collection, storage, and visualization. * Develop and maintain technical documentation: architecture diagrams, I/O lists, network diagrams, and SOPs. * Train operators and maintenance teams on SCADA system use and best practices. Qualifications: * 4-Year Bachelors Engineering or Computer Science Degree * Strong computer programming skills * Experience in programming languages and the ability to learn in this area * Visual Basic, Phyton, C#, SQL, Excel experience, Ignition, SEL/ORION RTAC. * Previous experience in Wind, Solar or BESS Energy industry considered a plus * Strong verbal and written communications * High level of competence of MS Office software programs * Familiarity with electronic communication systems (SCADA) considered a plus * Problem-solving ability * Ability to be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision * Ability to multi-task in a complex, dynamic environment * Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license * Ability to work collaboratively with multiple site management teams to ensure the success of projects for the benefit of your internal customers. The Specialist in this role will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing faults by both doing the work himself and/or directing other technicians. Support also entails performing root cause analysis, and documenting findings. The Specialist will manage and resolve outages associated with battery pack controller, string controller, string balancing, low cell voltage, HVAC, environmental controls and fire protection system. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of the Powin Stack 230 and Stack750/Centipede systems. It is expected of the Specialist to expand their knowledge to include other LRE BESS technologies including Sungrow and Fractal. The Specialist will contribute to planning and executing capacity tests and round-trip efficiency tests as required by PPA agreements. He will be directly responsible for, or directing other technicians in installation and testing new BESS stacks as part of augmentation or repairs. This position requires travel to site and oversee and train on-site staff. The specialist must have a demonstrated ability to resolve technical problems, document work instructions, communicate and manage resources effectively as well as deliver complex and time sensitive assignments in a fast-paced environment.
