POSITION OVERVIEW Under general supervision, performs a variety of facilities related work that includes but is not limited to cleaning, repairing and campus related inspections. This is a hands-on position physically undertaking a variety of assigned tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Cleans and maintains building facilities including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, bathrooms, library/media rooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses' rooms, stages and lobby/receptionist areas. Performs the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events (including daily cafeteria set-up). Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment. Cleans and/or polishes walls, ceilings, windows, and building fixtures and whiteboards. Cleans entryways, hallways, door mats, and door glass daily. Dusts furniture, walls, light fixtures, baseboards, student desks and other equipment. Gathers and empties trash. Cleans and services cleaning equipment daily and as needed. Applies wax or sealers to wood or concrete floors as directed by District Facilities. Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as light bulb and filter changes. Notifies Campus Facility Manager or Custodial Supervisor of the need to order materials/supplies, need for major repairs, or additions to building operating systems Ability to operate and mechanical understanding of the following machines, tools, and other special equipment and supplies used to perform job duties: hand tools, small power tools, ladder, backpack and upright vacuum, floor buffer, cleaning and polishing chemicals, wheeled utility cart, & moving equipment. Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets required. Able to be flexible regarding work hours to support campus, events and other needs as they arise. Flexible during the summer school schedule as needed. Work in an outdoor and indoor environment while cleaning and repairing equipment, furniture and buildings. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Walk, stand and remain on your feet for extended periods, up to 4 hours or more at a time. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS High school diploma or GED or 6 months custodial related experience. Basic cleaning methods, equipment and products knowledge. The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check. American Leadership Academy of Applied Technologies is now accepting applications for a High School Airframe and Powerplant Instructor for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card. Here at American Leadership Academy - Applied Technologies (ALA-AT), we believe that the next generation of AMTs are already behind the curve. We are preparing High School students in grades 9-12 to become FAA Certificated Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technicians. We further believe that with the current shortages of AMTs, we must also be cultivating an interest in the Aviation Industry for students in grades 7-8, which is also what we are doing here at ALA-AT. Job expectations include, but are not limited to: Teaches one or more assigned classes that are part of the program including procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes or powerplants, appropriate to the rating sought. Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students. Follow and maintain daily lesson plans to ensure compliance with Part 147 Certification Manual through input to the Program Coordinator. Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab. Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files. Submit attendance, grades, student evaluations, and all other reports/documentation to Supervisor or appropriate personnel as required by established procedures. Notify Supervisor of any current or potential issues which warrant immediate attention. Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor, based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys. Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings. Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit replenishment requests to Supervisor or appropriate personnel. Alert Program Coordinator to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences. Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor. You will provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and en Vision Math as you: Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students and allows them to perform at their very best. Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success! Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each students' learning style and abilities. Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals. Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments, Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives. Meet the qualifications that set you up for success Holding a bachelor's degree. A current teaching certificate within the state the position is located, some exceptions may apply . Have proven proficiency and experience in the subject of focus and specialty area of this teaching position. Creating positive, powerful energy that fuels our school spirit.
