Key Responsibilities

Project Description
A law school intern is sought to work in the Transaction Law Group, which is part of the broader Law Department. The Transaction Law Group provides transactional support to a wide array of Regeneron's departments, including research & preclinical development, clinical development, medical affairs, the Regeneron Genetics Center, commercial, market access, Business Development, Strategic Alliances, information technology, real estate and facilities management, human resources, finance, corporate citizenship, tax, and global procurement, and is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising regarding contracts and the legal risks associated with transactions. The Transaction Law Group facilitates the establishment of effective relationships to drive Regeneron's science and business forward. The intern will also assist with licensing and collaborative arrangements and other strategic transactions.
Primary responsibilities will include reviewing contracts and participating in their negotiation, as well as researching relevant legal issues. Agreement types may include, among others, confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, consulting agreements and service agreements. Successful candidates will also coordinate and contribute to the review or creation of template agreements and enhancements to the contract management system. Research projects and legal seminars will round out the experience. An end‐of-internship presentation is required.
Necessary Technical Skills
* Pursuing a JD degree, preference to students who will have completed their 1st year of law school.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word and PowerPoint and using other data‐driven applications.
* Strong writing, research, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with and interest in contracts and corporate legal issues.
* Science background is a plus.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Law degree (and be returning to school the semester following the internship). A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred. We want someone who is able to commit to 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks from the end of May/ June through the beginning of August. Demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports, current or previous work, or the community is also preferred.
