Key Responsibilities
Support Ukrainian clients by attending meetings, providing case updates, and offering appropriate referrals.

Review and organize client files, prepare immigration forms, and assist with filing.

Role Overview:
New York Life's Office of the General Counsel intern program seeks to provide a unique opportunity to one 1L student with a specific interest in an in-house experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a corporate legal environment, working closely with experienced attorneys while developing skills essential to a successful legal career. You will receive hands-on experience working on substantive projects in a dynamic in-house legal department with exposure to and participation in high-level business and legal decision making and problem solving. You will receive training and development through practical legal experience, while receiving informal mentorship and guidance from experienced attorneys. This role allows you to explore potential career paths and practice areas by meetings with current and former attorneys in different roles throughout New York Life. You will participate in internal and external networking events to gain insight into the intersection of law and business and to build relationships in the legal field.
This is a paid internship located at New York Life's home office in White Plains, New York. within the Office of the General Counsel. The internship dates are June 1st 2026 through August 28th 2026. General housing and transportation assistance will not be provided. Please note that this is an internship-only opportunity - interns should not expect an offer for permanent employment upon internship completion.

As part of this internship, you will be selected to participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 1L Scholars Program, a leadership program designed to develop leadership, relationship building, and career development strategies for 1L law students. Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
