Responsibilities include: * Prepare tentative drafts, letters, memoranda and legal documents for use in the preparation of opinions, reports, briefs, contracts, and other papers or legal documents. * Prepare drafts of pleadings, motions and discovery documents in connection with cases. * Attends hearings. * Assist in the preparation of drafts of findings of fact, conclusions of law and orders based on the evidentiary record. * Act as filing clerk in contested cases proceedings before a Division hearing officer. * Conduct legal research in various areas as assigned. * Request documents from other regulatory agencies and courts. * Support attorneys in filing legal actions to enforce the Insurance Trade Practices Act, Iowa Code Chapter 507B, the Insurance Producers Law, Iowa Code Chapter 522B, the Iowa Securities Act, Iowa Code Chapter 502, and other laws under the jurisdiction of the Iowa Insurance Commissioner intended to protect the public. * Perform administrative controls on internal and external requests for enforcement; and develop organizational program policies, processes and procedures for child support, state tax debt, or student loan default violation cases referred by the Iowa Department of Revenue (IDR), the Child Support Recovery Unit in the Department of Human Services (CSRU) or the College Student Aid Commission (CSAC).
