    Neal R. Gross and Co. is a leading Court Reporting and Transcription services company based out of the Washington, DC area with work across the country. Our clients include local, state and federal courts, the House of Representatives, Department of Defense and clients in the private sector. We are looking for experienced Court Reporters to work on a contract basis to visit client sites in their local area. You will use specialized equipment to create an accurate record of proceedings in numerous places including legal courts, non-profit board rooms, and depositions. We are very flexible and looking for candidates that can work anywhere from a few jobs a month to 2-3 per week. The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing support services including answering phones, document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. Other duties will be in an effort to assist management of the office operational needs such as, ordering office supplies, managing conference room schedules and in office client meetings, or other operational needs. Highlighted Duties: Assist with screening of prospective clients and gathering intake information at new client meetings. Responsible for opening cases for new clients and working case until final phase. Effectively handle a family law case from the initial retention through conclusion. Drafting and preparing all required pleadings, correspondence, and other documents for family law cases, including Dissolution of marriage; paternity; post-judgment actions (modification, contempt, enforcement); domestic violence injunctions; relocations; and all other family law related pleadings. Extensive preparation of Financial Affidavits, Mandatory Disclosures, and all other discovery requests and responses. Trial preparation. Preparation of family law calculations. Coordination of hearings, conferences, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings. Highlighted Requirements: Strong attention to detail and accuracy needed to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks. Ability to reassure and calm clients while explaining the process to them. An understanding of child support guidelines, and spousal support guidelines. Consistently meet and exceeds monthly billable targets. Able to work independently. Exceptional customer service mindset.
