    BACKGROUND: Starks Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. This candidate will assist in the Civil Financial Litigation Program (FLP). The candidate will have responsibility for collecting criminal financial impositions (including fines and restitution) and pursuing civil litigation to establish and collect debts owed to various federal government agencies. The successful candidate will work on-site at our client's Washington State office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate with the client's Docket Clerk to obtain and review copies of indictments. Review transcripts of arraignments, bond hearings, pre-sentence reports and other proceedings where defendants' finances are discussed. Coordinate with the Asset Forfeiture Unit about assets. Work closely with the prosecuting Criminal attorneys for sentencing hearings. Prepare pre-sentence asset investigation reports. Assist in re-review of cases, which includes internet researching and generating Accurint, credit reports, requesting employment information from Department of Labor, etc. Prepare enforcement pleadings such as subpoenas, writs of garnishments, and discovery docs (interrogatories and requests for production), when required. Draft correspondence with opposing counsel, debtors, courts, financial institutions, and others that is clear, concise, correctly formatted, and free from grammatical and spelling errors.
