A fast-growing media organization is seeking its first in-house attorney to build and lead the company's legal function. The ideal candidate has experience supporting early-stage or scaling startups - preferably within media, journalism, or publishing - and is comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment. Key Responsibilities

• Strong familiarity with First Amendment, defamation law, IP and privacy law and other media-law-related considerations.

Compliance Program Support
Support the execution of the Pharmacy Compliance Program, including education, monitoring, and reporting activities.

Assist with policy development, updates, and integration into the Knipper Health corporate compliance framework.
Assist with development and execution of internal auditing procedures.
Contribute to audit readiness by maintaining organized, current evidence files for compliance and privacy controls.

Coordinate compliance training for employees and contractors related to HIPAA, CAPA, and corporate conduct.
Accreditation, Regulatory, Client Compliance Management
Serve as the Accreditation Lead for ACHC, NABP, and other certification and regulatory bodies relevant to pharmacy operations.
Maintain current knowledge of all accreditation standards and regulatory updates impacting pharmacy operations.
Lead all reaccreditation and audit readiness activities, including documentation review, evidence collection, and staff preparation.
Maintain a master library of accreditation policies, procedures, and evidence documents.
Collaborate with Quality and Operations to close accreditation-related CAPAs or deficiencies.
Ensure ongoing compliance with all accreditation standards through continuous monitoring, periodic internal audits, and staff education.
Act as the primary liaison to accrediting bodies, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Coordinate accreditation committee meetings and maintain minutes and corrective action logs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Pharm D or Bachelor of Science Degree in pharmacy
Two (2) years of Pharmacist experience
Current unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in good standing by the required state(s) board(s) of pharmacy.
Ability to acquire other licenses as needed.
Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs within a specialty or mail-order pharmacy environment.
Demonstrated experience leading accreditation/compliance programs.
Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy & Security, NABP, ACHC, DEA, and 21 CFR Part 11.
Strong analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
Proficient with compliance or QMS platforms (e.g., Track-wise, Master-Control, ZenQMS, or equivalent).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager, Ethics & Compliance provides leadership and support for all elements of the Ethics & Compliance Program including business team guidance, communication of compliance written standards, key control testing for significant risks, and other related activities as necessary. Job Description
Operational Legal Support
Serve as the go-to legal advisor for doctors, advanced practice providers, practice managers, and Regional Vice Presidents on operational and regulatory matters.
Provide fast, clear, business-oriented legal advice that helps frontline teams keep clinics running smoothly.
Navigate multi-state operational issues by delivering practical solutions that balance risk and efficiency.
Contract Management
Draft, review, and negotiate a steady stream of operational contracts, including vendor agreements, services contracts, supply chain deals, and equipment leases/purchases.
Help streamline and standardize recurring vendor and operational contract terms.
Real Estate & Leasing
Lead the legal review of commercial leases for our nationwide clinic footprint, including new leases, renewals, amendments, and subleases.
Prepare lease abstracts and coordinate with operations and finance on key dates and obligations.
Employment & HR Support
Partner with HR, Regional Vice Presidents, and practice leadership on employment needs: hiring, discipline, terminations, investigations, wage & hour issues, and FMLA/ADA matters.
Draft and refine physician and advanced practice provider employment agreements, providing clear and efficient guidance to ensure alignment and timely finalization of terms.
Partner with outside counsel on employment matters that develop into formal disputes, investigations, or litigation.
Litigation & Disputes
Manage threatened and active litigation, including employment disputes, commercial claims, and malpractice/professional liability matters.
Work closely with outside counsel when matters escalate, providing strategic direction while managing spend and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Professional Board Matters
With the involvement outside expert counsel, oversee responses to medical board, nursing board, and other licensing agency inquiries and investigations.
Coordinate with compliance, risk, and clinical leadership to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; eligibility for Florida Authorized House Counsel status if applicable.
6-8+ years of legal experience, preferably including in-house work with a multistate MSO, PPM, or other multisite healthcare services organization.
Strong foundation in employment law, operational contracting, and litigation management.
Experience advising doctors, clinical teams, or healthcare operations is strongly preferred.
Exposure to healthcare regulatory or compliance matters (Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, licensure issues) is a plus but not required.
Confident communicator who can build trust with practices and operational leadership.
Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, fully remote environment.
Practical, solutions-driven mindset - grounded, direct, and business-focused. A collaborative working style and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Salary Range:
$150K - $175K annually.
This range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
