Position Summary:
KIND seeks a Staff Attorney to provide expert legal services to unaccompanied children needing legal representation through zealous direct representation as well as pro bono facilitation, including robust consultation, training, and technical assistance to pro bono attorneys who have accepted KIND cases. Essential Functions:
Provide both mentoring to KIND pro bono attorneys and direct legal representation to KIND clients.
In the pro bono mentoring function, provide robust consultation and technical assistance to pro bono attorneys who have accepted a KIND case.
In the direct representation function, perform ordinary functions of legal counsel including legal research and formulating the legal strategy for the case; conducting client interviews; appearing before immigration and/or state courts or agencies; and drafting and filing court pleadings and applications for benefits.
Supervise interns and/or other non-attorney staff as needed including:
Onboarding, skills training, daily support and coaching, review and quality assurance of filings, regular check-ins and performance evaluations, and provision of consistent and effective supervision and oversight.
Place cases with pro bono attorneys and actively build relationships between KIND and the pro bono community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Fluent in English and Spanish (required for direct communication with the children we serve and their caregivers, the majority of whom are Spanish-speaking).
Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing immigration law, which should include representation of clients in humanitarian immigration claims such as asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, U visas, and T visas.

Schedules meetings and arranges travel for General Counsel and Construction Directors
Assists with compliance projects, particularly with regulatory agencies and departments such as Planning and Zoning, Building Department, and City and County Commissioners and staff
Coordinates with outside counsel on legal project management
Coordinates with General Contractors on various construction projects
Assists with invoice tracking and preparation of lender required documentation for construction draws
Qualifications
Associate's Degree or higher as Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal
10+ years' experience as Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal
Passion for working in a fast-paced, highly productive environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to proofread complex contractual language with attention to detail
Proactive, collaborative work style

We are seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in handling Medical Malpractice and Healthcare matters to join our Orlando, Florida office. The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years' experience. This individual will maintain positive contact with clients, observe confidentiality of client matters, and must be team-oriented.
Our healthcare practice team represents hospitals, physician groups, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, medical staffing entities, medical technology providers and many other medical providers and allied health institutions. We also represent physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in all aspects of their respective professions, including claims for professional negligence. Our attorneys have successfully defended these medical providers in federal and state courts, as well as credential and licensing cases, throughout the country.
Responsibilities:
Provide initial analysis and develop case strategy
Prepare and respond to discovery
Take and defend depositions, draft motions and attend hearings
Explain legal options to clients and bringing possible outcomes or threats to their attention.
Build relationships with clients
Ability to negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
In good standing and able to practice law in the state of Florida
Strong critical thinking skills and solid academic background.
Strong sense of urgency about problem solving, meeting deadlines and achieving goals
Knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive.
Excellent communicator, negotiator, public speaker, and problem solver.
