Legal extern job in Chicago, IL
Our client, a sophisticated Chicago-based boutique law firm, is seeking an experienced (10+ years) employment attorney to join its Chicago office (title depending on level of experience). The employment law practice at this firm counsels employers on matters involving discrimination, wage/hour, retaliation, workforce reductions, and terminations, and defends clients in federal and state court as well as agencies such as the EEOC. This role will be focused on employment counseling, with approximately 20% of practice involving litigation matters.

Responsibilities
Advise a range of clients, including local governments, townships, nonprofits, and religious institutions, on a range of employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, workforce reductions, restrictive covenants, termination decisions, discrimination, and leaves of absence
Provide advice regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws
Draft employment policies and other related documents
Defend claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under federal and state laws as well as contractual disputes and defamation claims
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience with employment counseling and litigation

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000.
