Representative Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for ensuring the efficient daily administrative operations of the assigned legal team.

The NCOSE Law Center, our own in-house embedded litigation law firm, has created and is spearheading the legal strategy and effort to end the sex trade as we know it within the next decade. NCOSE's Law Center is filing groundbreaking lawsuits, providing critical policy analysis of federal and state legislation, building networks of state-level activists, submitting amicus briefs on potentially precedent-setting cases, as well as training and mentoring the next generation of legal advocates committed to fighting sexual exploiters. Essential Job Functions Responsibilities Overview
The law clerk will assist with forwarding NFHA's systemic investigations and enforcement efforts, including developing litigation and administrative complaints against entities engaged in providing, financing and/or building housing in a discriminatory manner. The law clerk will also assist with the technical support NFHA provides its member organizations on enforcement matters. As a Legal Support Assistant, you will be a critical part of Alston & Bird's world class professional service staff. You will be part of a team that delivers TOP ECHELON support to our internal and external clients. The Washington DC office of Alston & Bird is accepting applications for the position of Legal Support Assistant.
Essential Duties
Candidates who apply should have a strong interest in learning more about the practice of law and be eager to develop and apply the highest standards of excellence to all assigned duties. Legal Support Assistant positions have historically provided excellent opportunities for future growth within the practice area and firm.
Knowledge of and experience with general office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
A working knowledge of general office procedures and filing techniques, along with the capability to concentrate on details and prioritize work is essential.
Ideal candidates should have the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, efficiently handle a shifting workload, and analyze complex situations.
Strong candidates will offer flexibility to extend their working hours occasionally when required by business need. This includes performing a variety of administrative duties including: project work; database entry; file maintenance; file organization; file indexing; file closing; preparation of file labels and folders; document production; binder organization; and assisting with copying.
Skills Needed to be Successful
Previous experience in a professional work environment.
A four-year college degree is preferred.
General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is highly desirable.
The salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $50,000 - $64,000 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be dependent on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, relevant certifications, geographic location, market demands, and specific business needs. Generally, candidates are considered for the higher end of the salary range when they bring the requisite level of experience and expertise to the role.

2025 SEIU LAW STUDENT PROGRAM
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has openings for part-time law clerks and full- and part-time externs for Fall 2025.

Attorneys in SEIU's Legal Department engage in innovative lawyering to further the organization's interests in organizing nonunion workers, improving working conditions for all workers, engaging in political action, and achieving social justice. This includes legal work on a wide range of litigation, regulatory and legislative matters, and policy and advising on union governance issues, organizing campaigns, and other legal work in furtherance of working people, and their communities.
Law clerks and externs in the SEIU Legal Department conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, work with attorneys on pending litigation, attend hearings and conferences, and meet with union leaders.
Law clerks and externs are assigned to work in the Legal Department in Washington, DC. For the fall semester, we are looking for in-person availability.
Law clerks are paid $25/hour. Externs who receive academic credit can also receive compensation if allowed by their law school.
We are interested in candidates with a demonstrated commitment to workers' rights and social change. The successful applicant will have a strong academic background with excellent writing and researching skills. Completion of a basic labor law course is preferred but not required. Law Clerk/Legal Intern - Archdiocese of Washington

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Law Clerk/Intern will assist attorneys in addressing complex and diverse legal matters affecting the Archdiocese (which includes the Central Pastoral Administration and its departments, as well as individual parishes, schools, and ministries) to ensure legal compliance and identify and reduce risk. The Law Clerk/Intern will be expected to perform legal research and assist with legal matters in areas such as contracts, property, land use, religious liberty, corporations, employment, tax, non-profit organizations, education and schools, estates, immigration, public policy, and other areas of the law.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist with legal projects related to parish and Archdiocesan real property matters
* Conduct legal research and analysis, including research of laws, regulations, public records, databases, and governmental filing requirements
* Perform initial reviews of contracts between Archdiocesan entities and vendors as well as contracts and documents related to real property transactions and other legal matters submitted to the Office of the General Counsel
* Assist with management of legal databases and documents
* Analyze and assist with preparing responses to subpoenas and records requests
* Assist attorneys in working with parishes and other departments on legal issues impacting their ministries
* Research and analyze legal issues on a variety of matters, and assist with preparing related documents
* Work with attorneys to prepare and submit governmental filings related to real property, corporate compliance, and/or tax-exempt status
* Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
* Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and who fully supports her teachings
* Current law student (willing to consider pre-law or paralegal candidates)
* 1-3 years of relevant experience
* Background or interest in in theology, canon law, non-profit law, or public policy issues impacting the Roman Catholic Church a plus
* Legal research and writing skills; familiarity with Lexis Nexis for legal research a plus
* Demonstrated communication and collaborative skills, including the ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel (g., formatting, management, data analysis and manipulation, formulas)
